Is there steam building in Westwood? It feels like Coach Savage is stacking days with a club that will be even better come May. Can the UCLA pitching develop fast enough to host?

If you were going by RPI, which I implore you to take as a grain of salt right now, UCLA would be in a good spot. Overall, I have been impressed with the resume the Bruins have put together so far. They've taken care of business with a schedule that has been a nice mix of home and away games. We are obviously high on a premier talent like Roch Cholowsky, but Mulivai Levu has been a big-time power producer and Phoenix Call had some big hits over the weekend against the Terps. Trending up for sure.

DBU's starting rotation looks strong, but I am concerned about their relief pitching.  Do you think DBU will be strong enough this year to host?

Brett -- Looking around at Conference USA and some of the RPIs in the league, DBU is not going to enter league play from a position of strength. Right now, the RPI is in the 27-30 range with a lot of triple digit opponents left on the schedule. -- i.e., that's little margin for error.

How do you predict USM to end up in the sun belt?  How about the job Coach Oz is doing with a slew of freshmen arms?

I think USM has an Omaha caliber pitching staff, so I will lean the Golden Eagles as the Sun Belt regular season title winner at this point. I also really liked what Coastal Carolina did over the weekend against ECU. Troy is the one team I still like but feel is a bit more unproven than the other two stalwarts in this league.
