On X, Roones suggested that the next team who plays Oregon State should walk Bazzana to lead off the game.  I can't decide if that's disgraceful, or hilarious...
Aaron Fitt

It's crazy what Bazzana is doing right now -- leading off four straight games with a home run, are you serious? He is just so dialed. And as I've written about previously, there are no easy answers against him because he's even better against lefties than against righties. Such a complete hitter.

Do you recall anyone hitting four leadoff homeruns consecutively as Bazzana has done in the last four games?
Kendall Rogers
12:31
Only Brady Anderson has done it at the big league level. By the way, Aiden May returning AND throwing very well on Friday is a massive development for this OSU team. The greedy part of me really hopes this team can get to Omaha so America can see Bazzana up close.

Where did Nebraska fall this time around for you? And what do you think of their odds in the Big 10 or at an at large this season?
Aaron Fitt
12:33
Once again, Nebraska was just right on the cusp of the Top 25, we talked about them at length. It's just a matter of other teams had louder weekends against better competition, so they jumped over the Huskers. But that team has been very consistent against a solid schedule, we are all impressed with the body of work. And given where they are currently in the top 10 of the RPI, it definitely feels like they're starting from a position of strength when it comes to earning an at-large bid. I like their chances.

Who is the National Coach of the Year as of right now? Is it Link Jarrett by a mile or are there other strong contenders?
Kendall Rogers
12:34
Link would be high up the list -- Dan Heefner would be another one for me, as would John Sfecz. And ... in a very funny way, I'd probably have Lemonis in that mix, too. Those guys were left for dead coming into the season, and they're pretty damn good IMO.

O/U 20 HR total in the Knoxville band box this weekend between the Vols and Dawgs?

Mash that over!!

I'm a Florida fan and I can't imagine how difficult it is to rank this team. Can you shed some light on you guys' conversations about them and how they fit into the 6th spot?
Aaron Fitt
12:37
We love the weekend resumé, and those quality series wins have kept them up there in the top 6 despite all the midweek struggles and the 14-9 overall record. But the lack of consistency is a strike against them, and that's why they got jumped this week by A&M (despite the head-to-head) and Tennessee. We didn't want to move Florida down after winning a marquee weekend series, but it also just didn't feel right to move them up. Just kinda holding their ground. But when it's all said and done, they are building a national seed resumé with those high-end weekend series wins. They just need to do better in midweek action, and I have to imagine that will come.

Is Braden Montgomery a top 5 player in college baseball? Who right now is your top 5?
Kendall Rogers
12:38
He would be for me, yes. Montgomery's numbers are outstanding, and his approach at the plate has been terrific so far this season. What's really funny is I asked Braden over the weekend if he ever notices the buzz in the stands when he comes to the plate, home or away. He said he did with a big smile but says he just tries to stay focused. He's an enjoyable personalty on top of the hitting skills.

OK gang, that's all for me today, bouncing a little bit early -- player rankings week is upon us, and I need to dive in. Stay tuned for those starting tomorrow!

How does Stanford have an RPI in the 200s?
Kendall Rogers
12:43
Eric -- Stanford is just not very good right now. Part of it is just losing so many key cogs. The other part of it is just having a lot of young, fresh faces throughout the program. I'm not counting out Stanford to put things together by the end of the year, but there's a reason we didn't have the Cardinal ranked coming into the season.

What do you guys make of the umpire bumping and pursing Hunter Hines at the end of the game Saturday?
Kendall Rogers
12:44
Dawg -- Was not a fan at all. In the same circumstances with the roles flipped, zero question the Hines would've been suspended. I'm not sure if Morris meant to do that, but you can't take it back. I will say this about Morris -- I talked to both coaching staffs and TrackMan was actually favorable to him after the game. That's kind of wild because from my vantage point he was off by a mile. But the facts are facts and his zone was actually very solid.

Is this Oklahoma State team another Rob Walton master class? They only gave up 6 runs all weekend to a ranked TCU team! If they can shore up the Sunday starter, this team feels dangerous. Especially if the offense comes around, which feels inevitable with this program.
Kendall Rogers
12:46
Pokes -- Totally agree on Oklahoma State being a really dangerous club. The Pokes racked up some losses early when injuries were a major concern. Now that Schubart and others are back, this is a club I'd keep an eye on to make a run the second half of the season. The talent is certainly there and the Big 12 is anyone's game.

What is your latest take on the Iowa Hawkeyes, and B1G in general?
Kendall Rogers
12:51
Guest -- was good to see the Hawkeyes shake off Brecht's first loss and come back and win the series, but they've got to get a lot better across the board to potentially make a run at the tournament. Right now, the postseason contenders for me are Nebraska, Maryland and Rutgers with Iowa the other team. Illinois picked up a nice series win over IU this past weekend, but its RPI is well into the triple digits.

Of all the underachieving/underwhelming Big 12 teams so far, who would you say is the most likely team to make a surge over the next few weeks?
Kendall Rogers
12:52
TCU has to figure it out, right? You'd think. Texas Tech is the other team front of mind here, but it seems to be extremely inconsistent, particularly on the mound.

If ole miss were to sweep this weekend (big if) would that be enough to jump them into the top 25?
Kendall Rogers
12:53
If OM swept Kentucky this weekend, I'd feel very confident saying it would be ranked. Yes.
Jordan
12:58
How do you see the Cajuns going forward with this streak that they are currently on? Do you think they have a shot at the SBC regular season title?
Kendall Rogers
12:58
Jordan -- Like what I'm seeing from Matt Deggs' club right now. They were scuffling a couple of weeks ago, but they pitched at a very high level against a quality ODU club over the weekend. Going to Texas State and that jet stream at Bobcat Field will be difficult. So, if the Cajuns can go there and win that series, I'm feeling pretty good about them the second half of the season. They have the arms to be a very dangerous postseason club, imo.

Could you see DBU potentially playing their way into hosting a regional or will the poor rpi across conference USA ultimately hold them back?
Kendall Rogers
1:03
Pats -- If DBU continues to win at a high level, which I think it will, especially with Ellwanger coming back in due time, I think everything will take care of itself and the Pats will be a Top 16 seed.
