Arkansas sweep of Florida on the road seems like a massive result...any takeaways from that series specifically with Arkansas pitching. I felt like both Delce and Haff did a nice job this week and hopefully can keep it up heading into the postseason.

To me, this sweep from Arkansas was a “hey, we’re here to stay,” type moment. I don’t want to say program defining, but it’s in that realm. We talked so much last year about the Razorbacks’ path to the SEC regular season title and everyone wanted an asterisk on it because of who they played. This isn’t the best Florida team, but the series wasn’t like a lock for Arkansas to win. Not only did they win though, they swept with a run-rule and shutout win on the road. THAT’S REALLY IMPRESSIVE TO DO IN GAINESVILLE. Delce is coming into her own and if Haff can just be solid like that’s all Arkansas needs with its offense. I think the Razorbacks are in a great position to get to Oklahoma City as of right now.

Arkansas made a statement last weekend. Do you think it says more about Arkansas or Florida?

Arkansas for the reasons above

Why or how, is San Diego State ranked ? They only have played 5 games against the Top 50 RPI teams, winning 1. Apparently they have feasted on "cupcakes". If SD State is 24th, Liberty should be Top 15.

Personally, rankings and postseason metrics aren’t the same to me. Liberty was in the discussion to be ranked this week and have undoubtedly been good, but I think we all had high expectations and the start of the season for the Flames made us put them down for a bit. San Diego State is still a good team and has quality outcomes. Since they jumped into the rankings there’s been no reason to take them out. And if we want to bring RPI into the matter, the Mountain West has a higher conference RPI than the ASUN.

There is no denying that Alabama is a great softball team with potential to win in OKC this year. How worried should Alabama fans be, though, after losing their second series of the year?
Brady Vernon

If I was an Alabama fan I wouldn’t feel good. Sure they could figure it out to a point, but the reality is that Montana Fouts and Lexi Kilfoyl need to be better. Fouts was our top ranked preseason player. She was supposed to be the top pitcher in the country, but hasn’t been a top 10 pitcher for weeks. Teams have clearly made adjustments to her without her doing the same especially during the first games of the series. The offense isn’t built to carry the team, and the defense has its issues at times. Until we see more consistency in the circle. I wouldn’t feel great about Alabama’s title hopes.

Not a question - But my heart was melting over some of the the senior day postings. I hope these continue to be shared on socials. Xoxo

Does OSU need to win 2/6 vs OU/FSU to keep a national seed or are they safe
Brady Vernon

As of this morning Oklahoma State’s RPI was 9. Facing the number 1 (OU) and 5 (FSU) RPIs aren’t going to kill them if they go 0-6. The Cowgirls are going to host. But to earn one of those national seeds, they’re probably going to need to win two games the next two weeks and get to the Big 12 title game to feel confident about getting a Top 8 seed.

Oklahoma State and Florida State swept ranked opponents last weekend. What is your prediction for this top 10 showdown this week?

It's going to be another Thursday night Thowdown for the ages, heck a series for the ages. I agree with Brady. We don't know if Elish will be available so this series should go to the Noles. However, Maxwell does have the ability to carry the load albeit, the FSU offense is better than most at making in-game adjustments. We are lucky to get another top 10 matchup in April!

I'll go with FSU as OSU has to travel and with Miranda Elish's health a question mark it makes it harder to see them winning the series. Don't expect a lot of runs, but Florida State's defense compared to the Cowgirls might be the real difference maker

Do you think that Alabama still has a chance at a top eight tournament  seed?
Tara Henry
3:10
Yes, they still sitting at 3 RPI and have the No. 1 strength of schedule. Unless they completely go off the rails they've got more than a proven body of work to host a super regional. As Brady alluded to above, they will need to shore up on the defensive side to make it through Mizzou and the SEC tournament.

I judge team's strength of schedule by their out of conference opponents. Do they schedule ranked teams, or do they play "cupcakes". Liberty has played more Top 50 RPI teams than the almighty Oklahoma has played. Liberty has played 17 Top 50 RPI teams, to Sooners' 12.

Again, SOS is not just 'judged' by any one person or the selection committee. It's an equation. Re: 'cupcakes' unfortunately for OU teams are far more likely to schedule Liberty than Oklahoma. Plain and simple. Liberty was in the discussion this week and will continue to be if they keep winning. I wouldn't be surprised to see them or Louisiana break into the Top 25. next week.

Why can't Florida win at home?
Tara Henry

Good question. Hannah Adams out of the lineup hurt UF this week as they tried to shuffle the defense. Arkansas is also so well rounded and mowing through the SEC. You'd argue hosting the tournament gives them an advantage, but they seem to play better on the road...
Thanks all! That's it for the week!
