anyone hoping to make money in e-sports should know that corporations owning the game itself will mean that it will be tough to find pockets of profit that aren't vacuumed up by the IP owner.

I'm on the other side of the eSports opinion. With the way it's booming right now, I could see many companies/games investing into games that might not make it due to lack of online popularity, and it dying within a year of release. I'd hate to be part of one of those. I'd only want to be part of an already established brand (ie. LoL, DotA, etc)
