(This is my 10th year in BBWAA, so I vote this year for Hall)

Rose grosses me out on many levels, but I also believe that the sportsmanship clause, based on the history of the development of the rules, strongly pertains to on-field manifestation of character.

I don't have any dispute with people who feel differently. I would have held my nose and voted for Schilling, too.

As *I* personally see it, I'm an expert in baseball in many aspects, and fully qualified to serve on an expert panel to evaluate most baseball things. I am not a scholar of ethics or morality, and I would be uneasy to serve on an expert panel about these things.

The BBWAA has local votes and there's a Good Guy award, and I abstain from voting in that one at all, as I simply do not believe I am qualified to pass such judgments.
