Aren't the Padres wasting potentially the most productive years of Hosmer and Myers by waiting until 2021/2022 to compete? Should they sell some of the deep farm to get some pitching in advance of guys like MacKenzie Gore and Michel Baez?

Because realistically, who cares about taking advantage of Hosmer's best seasons?  You don't base the franchise around that.  He's not Trout.
