How does ZiPS account for a higher expected BABIP in the lower levels? I'm assuming fielding is worse in AA than MLB. But does weaker hitting make up for that? Is expected BABIP about .310 across all levels?

I was thinking with the extension the trade is somewhat redeeming. Without it? It reminds me a lot of the Melvin Mora for Mike Bordick trade the Mets made in 2000.

Eh, depends. I'm not sure the guarantee of horribly overpaying for a closer now rather than risk not being the winner of horribly overpaying for a closer in four months is *that valuable.
