I owuldn't say a guy having a 5-6 WAR season is on the lower end of his outcomes.
Defense, let's say he's at his 70th-80th percentile.  Offense, 30th?

LIkely HBP happen in a slightly better situation for the hitting team than a BB does.

There are fewer intentional unintentional HBPs than walks.

SOME walks are going to be in situations where the pitcher is slghtly less afraid, compared to normal, of walks.
But HBP are less intentional, if that makes sense.
