You alluded to the Mariners potentially trading Paxton at the deadline if they fall out of contention. You really think they would move him? What could they get for a dude like that?
Dave Cameron
12:45
If they fall far enough out, I think you have to listen.
You obviously would want a lot, but with his history of injuries, you don't necessarily say he's an unmovable part of the core.

Re: Cargo/Desmond/Reynolds. Going forward, they should all be capable role players, nowhere near star-caliber, but also not black holes. The Rockies could spend a lot of prospects to get something back in a trade, but I'm not sure what position they would try to replace, and how much of an upgrade it would be. They stick with what they have, no doubt.
Dave Cameron
12:47
Because they're likely going to end up in the Wild Card game, I agree that's what they'll probably do. You don't want to mortgage the future to get a slightly better RF for a one-game play in.

Carlos Gonzalez is not a league average hitter you imbecile
Dave Cameron
12:48
wRC+, by year, since 2014: 83, 114, 108, 53. You're right, he might not be a league average hitter. He might be below average.

You ever look at some of the stuff you write and realiz you don't know a damn thing about what you're talking about?
Dave Cameron
12:50
I do know how to spell realize, at least.

Which player has the biggest delta between reputation and ability?
Dave Cameron
12:51
I'm going to say Carlos Gonzalez, just so Post Malone loses it a little more.

Speaking of the Phillies, they need to inject ANY kind of fun/hope into that stadium right now. The fans are miserable. One seemingly good way would be to promote some dudes...do you think we see the likes of Hoskins/Kingery/Cozens any time soon or are we destined for a full season of this dumpster fire?
Dave Cameron
12:51
I'd have promoted Hoskins a while ago. Tommy Joseph isn't very good.

New York or Chicago style pizza?
Dave Cameron
12:52
You mean pizza or lasagna?

Considering contract, position, etc...is there a position player combo you'd rather have over Judge/Sanchez right now?
Dave Cameron
12:53
Seager/Bellinger isn't bad.
Lindor/Ramirez.
Correa/Springer
Lots of good combos.
Bryant/Rizzo

"Pizza or Lasagna" that's it, I'm team Post Malone.
Dave Cameron
12:55
I mean, I like lasagna. I have enjoyed Chicago style pizza. But it's not really pizza.
12:56
It's like if someone handed you a donut and was like "what do you think of this chocolate cake I made?"

A lot of Cargo trash being talked here which is partially deserved given his start. However, using wrc+ over previous seasons as your argument doesn't seem fair to me given that Rockies players are always bogged down in wrc+ based on park factor. What say you?
Dave Cameron
12:57
Their wRC+ isn't bogged down by park factors; wRC+ corrects improper valuations of Rockies hitters by those who don't use park factors.

What team gives up the best prospects at the deadline?
Dave Cameron

Houston

Could you see the diamondbacks going after one of the top RP available or do you think they make more middle of the road moves?
Dave Cameron
12:59
I would guess they might go more for quantity than quality. Maybe get two or three arms instead of one more expensive guy.

Does Houston have a weakness that can be exposed in the playoffs, seems like the'll be set rotation wise (assuming health) and the lineup and bullpen are unbelievable?
Dave Cameron
1:00
I don't think the line-up is unbelievable. 1B/LF/DH all below average, 3B is okay.
1:01
Alright, I'm going to go finish up my Andrew McCutchen post.
