Others might disagree, but I don't think so? If anything, this year has been like that line from Anton Ego's review in Ratatouille: not everyone can relieve, but a good reliever can come from anywhere.

Is there really a 'spread' of openers? I don't think teams are actively planning to be using Openers are they. Isn't it more out of necessity? I don't think we will see a GM say - "we really wanted to sign him so he can pitch the first against the Cubs."
