Hello Mr. Ed, who do you think is the Steelers' biggest threat in the AFC North? I'm not sold on L Jackson, the Bengals are, well, the Bengals. Could our main competition really be the Browns?
Ed Bouchette
2:15
I do believe the AFC North Division may be more balanced than ever this season.
J Lambert
2:15
Ed who’s been your favorite player to interview this last season and why?
Ed Bouchette
2:18
My favorite players to interview are ones who are honest, thoughtful, and come up with good answers. I don't want to leave anyone out but I would say the entire offensive line, Cam Heyward, Joe Haden, Ben Roethlisberger, Mike Hilton among the starters

Are they going to get a kicker in camp to compete with Boswell? someone better than the guy they used vs Cincy?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
The guy they used against Cincy made all his kicks that day, Matt McCrane. I believe those 2 will compete and if they fail, they'll find someone else.

Who now breaks the tie, in case of a draft pick disagreement between Colbert and Tomlin?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
Art Rooney II

Ed, with AB getting traded this year and having to account for his 21mil cap hit, what does it mean for the future? Is his number completely gone starting next season?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
Yes, they will have no cap hit beyond this season.
Jonah
2:21
Ed, Jonah Spencer from Youngstown Ohio. Do you think we (The Steelers) will go after a top WR prospect in this years draft? If not, what position do you think we will pick in the first round?
Ed Bouchette
2:21
I don't think they will go WR in the first round. I'd go for a defensive lineman in the first because that's where the quality is. It may be time for them to go for quality, no matter what position, rather than target a need.

2:22
Im curious as to why you think we may not get a 1st rounder for AB... what's the difference in this vs the Cooper situation?
Ed Bouchette
2:22
Cooper is much younger and without the baggage.
Sean
2:22
Do you think the team will allow/encourage AB and his agent to court teams for a trade deal? It almost seems like that's the team's best chance of getting a decent return. He'll need to sell himself after all he's done lately.
Ed Bouchette
2:23
Why would Drew Rosenhaus be able to get a better deal than Kevin Colbert?
DLee
2:23
Considering we just drafted WR Washington last year, do you think its more likely we pick up a FA WR (Tate, etc.) as opposed to drafting another early?
Ed Bouchette
2:23
I'm not discounting that they could add a free agent WR.
KB
2:24
Who’s the top free agent priority that the Steelers need to resign?
Ed Bouchette
2:24
I don't know that there is one.

Do you think Worilds' surprise retirement might've contributed to the Steelers reach on Dupree in 2015?
Ed Bouchette
2:25
They've had really bad luck and bad drafts at the LB position lately. It started when Woodley went downhill early, then Worilds abruptly left, then they drafted Jarvis Jones and Dupree and Shazier got hurt. T.J. Watt is the lone exception.
Chris

Thanks Ed! I think the offense will be more balanced and more efficient absent Bell and Brown. They spent too much time forcing the ball to Brown to prevent him from crying. Connor made me forget Bell early. Do you think they can change the culture quickly? Or is Mike T finished?
Ed Bouchette
2:27
There really isn't a big locker room problem that a few changes in personnel can't help.
J Lambert

Over your career what’s been the one event you’ve enjoyed covering the most?
Ed Bouchette
2:28
The 2005 Super Bowl week is up there.

Any indication what kind of Salary Ben is seeking if we extend him?
Ed Bouchette
2:29
I would think it would be around $30 M or slightly less. That's the going rate for the great ones.

If we simply cut AB -  do we still need to pay out his signing bonus?  I know there's a PUP list, but what about mental capacity list?  He's gone crazy!
Ed Bouchette
2:30
The signing bonus is gone and they're not getting any of that back.
Chris
2:30
Any chance they could simply package Brown and their pick to move up enough to ensure that they get thier pick of the inside linebackers (from LSU, Michigan, or Alabama)? Does that mean 5 picks or up as far as #11 IYO.
Ed Bouchette
2:31
I suppose they could do that, although I don't see it.

Ed, do you think there’s any chance the Steelers will keep AB if they can’t get what they think he’s worth? And should they suspend and/bench him if he becomes disruptive?
Ed Bouchette
2:31
I think both sides have reached a point of no return. But never say never
Dan Mucy
2:32
Ed...no LB worth a first round pick?   If not free agency, you gotta solve that position
Ed Bouchette
2:32
Colts got a pretty good one in the second round last year.
Thank you for another great chat. We'll be back in our normal spot next Tuesday.
