Good afternoon, let's begin
AnotherABquestion
1:58
Do you think it’s the teams preference to get a high draft pick, or would they rather get a quality player?
Ed Bouchette
1:59
Their preference would be a high draft choice, someone they would have under contract for at least 4 years.

What would be the lowest draft pic you would take for Brown? Could we be low balled and not trade him and have a massive circus next year ?
Ed Bouchette
2:00
Me? I'd take anything, but they should be able to get a second or third for him at he least.

How do you think this season's locker room silliness could impact free agent signings?
Ed Bouchette
2:00
That will have no bearing on anything, plus those causing the silliness will be gone

Think the Steelers will make a play for Golden Tate or would you say someone younger (John Brown or Tyrell Williams) is more to their liking?
Ed Bouchette
2:01
The FA group at WR is not very strong this year. They could get a reliable vet to team with what they have and draft one too. Tate would be my choice. Brown a disappointment

If you were the Packers GM would you trade your 1-30 pick for AB? And  if you were the Vikings GM would you try to out bid GB?
Ed Bouchette
2:02
If I'm trading for Brown, I'm not trading a first-round draft choice.

What's your gut feeling on what the Steelers will receive in a trade for AB.  I think the market will blink at the 11th hour based on AB's Hall of Fame level talent and the Steelers will get a 1st Rounder.

Hi Ed. Do you believe that if Morgan Burnett was available more last year and Terrell Edmunds had been able to play as a Dime Linebacker that this would have helped offset the loss of Ryan Shazier? Also, do you view these new sub packages with 7 DB’s as something that may be utilized more in today’s NFL or simply an experiment by a few teams that won’t really work in the future.
Ed Bouchette
2:04
I don't think you'll see 7 DBs much, but I do think 6 might be more prevalent. I think the Steelers, for example, would still prefer to field some big safeties inside on pass defense rather than the Mike linebacker they used so often there.

If Kevin Colbert's team opinion on Artie Burns was in line with other NFL personnel people (3rd rd grade), would Coach Tomlin's voice in the room be enough to turn a 3rd rd grade into a 1st rd pick?
Ed Bouchette
2:04
I never heard that Burns had a third-round grade by anyone. Maybe I missed that.

Hi Ed.  Is it wrong to think that Ben's interception rate may go down next season because he won't be tempted to force the ball to AB so much?
Ed Bouchette
2:05
That could very well be. I've seen him force balls to him when he was triple-covered and they turned into interceptions.

The Steelers track record in drafting defensive backs able to transition successfully to the NFL during Tomlin's regime has left something to be desired. Is there a disconnect between how the  scouts grade DB's and what Tomlin is looking for? Do the coaches ever sit down with the scouts and say, "This is what we want?"  Thank you....love the chats!
Ed Bouchette
2:07
It is strange that they have not been able to find real good DBs, although drafting later in the rounds does not help. Still, they find good WRs often. I don't think there's a disconnect because the coaches on defense have changed through the years under Tomlin and the scouts are the same ones who traded up to draft Troy Polamalu before Tomlin.

Outside of talking trash on James Harrison (after he left town) and "stealing" Bell's shoes, what else has Dupree done to deserve $9mil?
Ed Bouchette
2:08
He plays a position that is vital to their defense and in which they are extremely thin. Both Art Rooney and Kevin Colbert talked optimistically about him after the season.

If the Steelers do not make a trade for AB prior to March signing bonus, would the Steelers be able to fine some of that bonus money for conduct detrimental to the team.   Or is that money off limits to discipline ?
Ed Bouchette
2:09
They had their chance back in December and did not take it. They have no reason now.

CJ Mosley made $8.7m last year and at 26, he's younger than the top inside backers who make >$10m. Think the Steelers can afford him?
Ed Bouchette
2:09
I'm not sure that's the kind of ILB the Steelers want at that price.

Hi Ed.  Do you think Juju can be a #1 WR or will he miss the double teams that AB commanded?  To help Juju,  should Steelers sign a FA WR or use early draft pick on WR?
Ed Bouchette
2:10
Yes, I think he can be a No. 1. Do you know who was No. 1 WR in New England? Edelman. No, they should not use a high pick on a WR. They need defense.

If Steelers don't get good value offers for AB, does AB stay in The Burgh and be a good soldier?
Ed Bouchette
2:11
I don't see any of that happening.

If Steelers sign Bud DuPree to this fifth-year $9M offer, are they on the hook for it if they cut him before the season starts?
Ed Bouchette
2:11
They are on the hook come March 13.

HI Ed, How much do you pay attention to PFF rankings? It feels like they are being used as a source by the media more and more.
Ed Bouchette
2:12
None. The media uses them because it is the one area where the media has access to those kinds of ratings.

What % of Steelers recent discord is attributable to Ben?  I say little, but others feel differently.
Ed Bouchette
2:13
I don't think he had or has anything to do with it.

Would you make the trade with Buffalo if they offered their 1st and 2nd for the Steelers 1st and AB?

Yes
