Sure seems like we rushed more people against Atlanta then the Ravens. Was that the case or was it just that we won more one on one battles against the Falcons?
Ed Bouchette
2:13
I asked Mike Tomlin about that. He said they blitzed about "normal"

2:13
What was the biggest difference with the defense Sunday?
Ed Bouchette
2:14
They performed like they knew what they were doing, and they did not miss tackles, and they put pressure on the QB, which helped their pass coverage

Brown could have killed someone. Will the league or the team have some type of disciplinary action for him? Furthermore, can we expect these kind of antics to continue as long as he plays for the Steelers?
Ed Bouchette
2:15
It's a lawsuit, not a criminal charge, so we'll have to see how that turns out. My question would be, if the police were called, and that really happened as the suit says, why weren't charges filed? Maybe there's another side of the story here, although I'm not sticking up for anyone until more facts come out.

So the Steelers can't get a ' two game' exemption for Bell?
Ed Bouchette
2:16
Not if he reports next week. It will be a two-week exemption involving one game if indeed they go that route

Will Matthew Thomas see an action this week?
Ed Bouchette
2:16
I have a call into Mike Tomlin about just that and am waiting for his call back.

Assuming Bell comes back for the second half of the season - any chance he sits out the playoffs - since no extra paychecks those weeks and he doesn't want to get hurt?
Ed Bouchette
2:17
That would surprise me. But first, the Steelers would have to make the playoffs

First time chatter/long time reader here, Ed...I wonder why Watt is only showing up in spurts 3 sacks, 0, 0, 0, 3...clearly not what they were hoping for out of him
Ed Bouchette
2:17
Let's cut the guy some slack since his six sacks are tied for the NFL lead, no matter when they came.

Hi Ed - any idea what has changed with Boswell from being lights out for 3 years and suddenly lost it this year? Could it be pressure from signing his new deal that he is putting on himself?
Ed Bouchette
2:18
There should have been more pressure last year when he was trying to get a new contract. The financial pressure is off. Not sure what it is. Maybe it's physical or technique and not in his head

What do you think will happen with Bell...1) Traded...2) Sit Out all Year...3) Come back during the bye week even though he has said nothing to the Steelers.
Ed Bouchette
2:19
I think he'll return next week and play for the Steelers, giving them a luxury at RB in the second half of the season. However, if the Eagles really knock their socks off with an offer, all bets are off
Joe

At what point would you/should you consider trading AB if you don't believe this is a super bowl contending roster, which very few people do?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
I don't believe that thought has even entered their minds.

Ed, Seems like Conner comes ready to play every game. Why was he so much more productive this game? More opportunities, better O=Line play? Do you think he will play well going forward if given the opportunity?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
They did not fall behind by 21-0 or 14-0 in the first quarter and abandon the run game
There also was more of a determination to run it from the start

Hi Ed, they switched TJ and Bud to help Dupree, so far not much has changed, he always takes the long way home. Last year for him? Thanks
Ed Bouchette
2:22
He has three sacks. That's a pace for 9 1/2, which isn't bad. I think his play has picked up

Does it make sense to put a transition tag on lev bell 2019.  Whats there to lose subject to he staying on steelers in 2018
Ed Bouchette
2:23
They could put the transition tag on him and, if he signs elsewhere, match it and trade him to that team, getting something out of it. If it were me, I'd wash my hands of it all after this season, let him become a UFA. Pick up another back somewhere and get your third-round comp pick in 2020 for him leaving

Ed, with Pittsburgh needing more guys who can catch the ball, any chance of a Jaylen Samuels sighting?
Ed Bouchette
2:24
Doesn't look like it, unless you are paying close attention to special teams play
Theo
2:24
Burns is crashing and burning, what happened to Colbert between 2011 and 2013 that he completely forgot how to draft defensive players? His record up to 2011 is exemplary, since it's been awful
Ed Bouchette
2:24
I think that T.J. Watt pick is turning out pretty good.
David
2:24
What is your prediction for Sundays game?
Ed Bouchette
2:25
I make that pick Sunday morning on KDKA TV and The Fan radio
Joe
2:25
I have the steelers 7-8-1 your thoughts
Ed Bouchette
2:26
I think you have that last number correct

2:26
Does Bell, if he reports, get paid for roster exemption weeks ?
Ed Bouchette
2:26
That is the Steelers' choice whether to pay him for one or two of those weeks or not at all.
Ryno
2:26
The report I saw said Brown was paying $35,000 per month for that luxury apartment in Florida. Isn't that the same building where you have your summer home?
Ed Bouchette
2:26
No sane Northerner has a "summer" home in Fla.

If Bell is not on the roster next year - and If Conner's play continues at this level - can we wait until mid rounds to draft a RB next year?
