Maybe, but I believe this past week was because it was only four days since the previous game and they did not want to beat Conner up that much.

Is Le’Veon Bell’s holdout the biggest(and dumbest) in sports history?
Ed Bouchette
2:29
We shall see. Maybe he'll make it back on his next contract, although few seem to think so.

When Dobbs came in late in last weeks game which was a good move however why not give him some in game experience  passing not just handing off.
Ed Bouchette
2:30
It's not good coaching etiquette that when you're leading 52-14 you keep passing in the fourth quarter.

Ed, on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the worst, how much do you despise these chats?  Thanks
Ed Bouchette
2:30
I love these chats.

Hi Ed, how do the Steelers plan to use the Burnett-Edmunds duo as Burnett returns to full health?
Ed Bouchette
2:30
It sounded last week as if MT wants to use Burnett more.

Hi Ed - do you think the improved tackling/fundamentals on the defense will allow the Steelers to stop Fournette and company this weekend?
Ed Bouchette
2:30
It better.

Hey Ed. Who is the Steelers's MVP so far?
Ed Bouchette
2:31
Ben Roethlisberger

How much advance scouting and planning do NFL teams do? For example, do the Steelers have people beginning to put together game plans for games down the road like the Patriots or the Saints?  Or is this done week to week?
Ed Bouchette
2:32
They advance scout -- they have pro scouts who work on that all the time -- but they usually don't go over that stuff with the coaching staff until the week of the game.

Does Matt Fleir continue to start when Gilbert is healthy or does Gilbert get his starting spot back?
Ed Bouchette
2:32
Gilbert returns

PLEASE TELL ME THAT A REPORTER IS NOT SET UP OUTSIDE WAITING TO SEE IF DUMB@SS SHOWS UP?!?
Ed Bouchette
2:33
Indeed, KDKA-TV has a BellCam out there, like the one on the bald eagles, in which you can watch the Steelers' entrance all afternoon until 4 p.m.

Okay, Ed, the suspense is killing us.  Is the reason this thing is late is because you know who has entered the building???
Ed Bouchette
2:34
There is no drama left, gang. This thing is over. I just got caught up in writing about it and missed the start. We'll go longer today

Hello Ed...Do you sense that management prefer Bell to stay away so everyone can move on although they might not state as much publicly? Thank you
Ed Bouchette
2:35
No, I think they preferred he report so that if something happens to James Conner, they could turn to Bell instead of what's behind Conner now
Mike
2:35
Hi Ed! In your opinion where are the top destinations for Bell next year?
Ed Bouchette
2:35
I keep hearing the Jets, but don't count out the Eagles.

Looking at the schedules, NE has the easiest road ahead. Who are your picks to end up with the playoff BYEs?
Ed Bouchette
2:36
KC and New England

Why did Bell come back to the city last week?  Do you think he planned on reporting and then changed his mind?
Ed Bouchette
2:36
My guess would be yes, and don't discount the injury to Dez Bryant changing his mind.

What are the rules of the transition tag next year. If the Steelers matched an offer for Bell could they trade him for something better than a 3rd round comp pick?
Ed Bouchette
2:37
If they tag him, he can sign with anyone. Once he signs, the Steelers can match or pass. If they match, they can then trade him, probably to the team that just signed him. I would think you might get a 2nd next year for him. Remember, the comp pick would be at the end of the third round and not available until 2020

I hear talk on TV about Eli Manning being a two-time superbowl MVP.  I think Ben could have been MVP in either Super Bowl Win.  I also think many years tht Ben is the MVP of the Steelers.  What do you think?
Ed Bouchette
2:38
Ben should have been MVP against Arizona in the 2008 season instead of Santonio Holmes. There's no way he should have been MVP in his first Super Bowl. Yes, he could be MVP of the Steelers often.

How do you feel Art Sr and Noll would deal with the self absorbed Bell??
Ed Bouchette
2:39
The same way Art II and Mike Tomlin are dealing with him.

Ed,  Everyone is big on power ratings each week.  Where would you have the Steelers currently?   I'd say maybe top 5?
Ed Bouchette
2:40
I'd invite them to the Rose Bowl right now.

I know Ben will say he does not care about the comments made by a certain Jags corner, but how much do you think that will drive him this week? Ben seems to be one of those competitors who plays better with a chip on his shoulder.
Ed Bouchette
2:41
When Anthony Smith, a safety, once guaranteed a Steelers win in New England, Tom Brady took great delight in going right after him for a long touchdown. I'd say Ben has the same mindset
Pete

Should the Steelers give Munchak a hefty salary increase to keep him happy and appreciated in Pittsburgh?
