I read in a mock draft that the Steelers don't believe that Hayden is not a long-term solution at CB so they had the Steelers taking a CB in the first round.  I am not expert but I have been impressed with his play.
Ed Bouchette
2:13
I'm not sure what long-term means but I believe he'll start for them again next season.

Mike Hilton seems to have instinctive qualities that add another element of splash to this defensive unit.  Will that translate to more playing time?
Ed Bouchette
2:14
Not unless they play the nickel and dime defenses more often because he is their nickel corner

Ed, according to Chris Collinsworth the refs were "huddling" after mis-spotting the ball after Bryants recovery of AB's loaf of bread, forward fumble. Didn't they have to signal it set for the Steelers to run the next play? How could they & the TITanS miss/not know the forward fumble recovery rule(s)?
Ed Bouchette
2:15
By rule they should have put the ball back to where AB fumbled it because you cannot advance a fumble in the final 2 minutes of either half.

Do you believe that passing was the going in game plan Thursday night or did Haley adjust when Bell was getting stuffed?  I'd like to believe that Haley showed signs of being adaptable in-game, something he has been criticized for in the past.
Ed Bouchette
2:16
The game plan was to pass, any number of players told me that, including Ben in my story today.

People are obsessed with NE, but there are a lot of good teams out there. Think Steelers could beat NE and then a Philly, Saints, or LA right now?
Ed Bouchette
2:17
Sure they could beat them. The question, if they get that far, will be DO they beat them?

"Playing at New England is more difficult than playing at Heinz..." Yeah, Brady sez he "hates" playing at Heinz... What's his record there?
Ed Bouchette
2:17
Not as good as it is against them in New England

Your thoughts on watching the steelers through the skycam? I loved it
Ed Bouchette
2:18
I watched them in person, not through the skycam

How is James Harrison doing?
Ed Bouchette
2:18
I'm not sure because he only talks on Fridays and I have off on Fridays. And there really has been little reason to talk to him after games.

Do you think both teams, steelers and New England will now show all their cards in the regular season game? Knowing there is a good shot of facing each other  again in the playoffs
Ed Bouchette
2:19
Let's at least hold off until December before we get into that game.

Hi Ed..great chats..looking at Kevin Colbert press release on Gilbert...seems awfully upset....do you think that as well?
Ed Bouchette
2:20
He didn't say much other than he was "disappointed,'' so if disapointed equals upset, then yes, I guess he was.

I saw you commented that there is an effort to get A Russsell on the HOF seniors ballot....why no LC Greenwood instead? Who's more deserving than LC?
Ed Bouchette
2:21
Russell has an advocate gathering info and making contacts. As far as I know, LC does not. But I agree with you, LC deserving

Ed, not drinking the Steelers Kool-Aid until this team performs consistently week-after-week and is BUSINESS-LIKE in their approach.

OK, have fun.

Hi Ed. Long time fan, first time chatter. Who in your opinion is the player the Steelers least afford to lose if they want to have a chance to unseat the Patriots?
Ed Bouchette
2:23
Ben Roethlisberger. Too obvious? Next would be Le'Veon Bell. Next would be Antonio Brown. Next would be Ryan Shazier

Hey Ed.  Why do you think you know so much about football, when you didn't even play small-college football 50 years ago?
Ed Bouchette
2:27
Does high school count? I know historians who write about the Civil War and never went through it. I know writers who cover politics and never ran for office. I know NFL football coaches who never played the game in college, not to mention GMs. Can we stop now because I don't have enough time nor space to coach you up on all of this.

"Not as good as it is against them in New England" Sure about that?
Ed Bouchette
2:28
Positive. Brady has lost to the Steelers in Heinz. He hasn't in New England.

You suggested the attendance for last weeks game might be light last week in your chat.  Thursday night it looked on TV like it was.  Any idea why?
Ed Bouchette
2:29
There were 60,000 in attendance. Thursday night game might have had something to do with it.

Do you see M. Bryant on the team next year?

I do

Does Artie Burns tackle well in practice?  He seems to want to avoid contact.
