Good afternoon, let's begin

Better chance of winning this week, Ravens or Steelers?
Ed Bouchette
2:00
According to the odds, the Ravens. Chargers are 4.5 point favorites, Saints are 5.5 (down from 7)
Jeremy

Do you think the crowd noise was the reason the Patriots had so many false starts?
Ed Bouchette
2:01
I think it contributed, yes. Remember that when the Steelers play Sunday in a dome
Ed A.

Do you know why the Steelers have not been putting the AFC logo in the end zone. It used to be in the end zone with the NFL logo. Now it is just a blank space.
Ed Bouchette
2:02
I thought they put the AFC logo in the end zone when the AFC playoffs take place, but then I'm not a keen observer of end zone paint. I prefer the old approach, stopping painting stuff on the field. Hockey surfaces have become so decorated with stuff you can't see the puck, not that you could see it much before.

Hi Ed - was practicing Burns and Sutton with the starters all week and for the first few plays a trick figuring Belichick's spies were seeing that?
Ed Bouchette
2:04
I have never seen a coach use practice to throw off an opponent. Never

Has the team resorted to no introductions in order to appear “focused”
Ed Bouchette
2:06
I didn't even know they did until I heard that today. I must have been getting a coffee. I do know they no longer play pool or ping-pong in the locker room though.

Was it my imagination or was the officiating better than usual for the last game?
Ed Bouchette
2:07
You probably thought it was better, if you are a Steelers fan, because they flagged the Patriots 14 times.

Hi Ed, Like the Offensive game plan.. just would like to see 45 in some short yardage and GL situations.. Thoughts?
Ed Bouchette
2:07
I am a bit surprised they don't use their Pro Bowl FB more often.

There was a pass last game where Ben came up well short of AB and it wasn't a super-deep route.  I know it's not cracked ribs, but do you feel the injury may affect Ben a little down the stretch?
Ed Bouchette
2:07
No.

If Conner can play, do you stay with Samuels and hope for the special mojo one more time? I can't imagine Conner will be at full strength just yet?
Ed Bouchette
2:08
It all depends on how Conner is. If he is a full go then he goes.

Missed in all of the drama of the last win was the fact that Mike Tomlin now has 12 straight winning seasons.  How many coaches do you know that can say from their first year to the 12th year, never once a losing season?  Yet, it gets no press.
Ed Bouchette
2:09
Winning seasons are nice, Super Bowl-winning seasons are better. It's 12 straight non-losing seasons because he had two 8-8 teams. His record is outstanding. Sean Payton also has longevity with a HOF QB but he also had some 7-9 seasons in there.

Are New Orleans and the Rams proving that it is nearly impossible to maintain a full head of steam over a 4 month 16 game season?  Seems they (NO) have fallen off a lot, maybe even enough to let the mercuric Steelers beat them?
Ed Bouchette
2:11
NO is 12-2, Rams 11-3. I don't see that as losing steam. However, they aren't scoring like they had earlier in the year. For the Saints, they've played three in a row on the road. They average 38 at home.

Hi Ed, Not that I'm surprised, but I haven't heard (or seen) anything about Mason Rudolph. Any idea what his work week entails, how he's doing, etc?
Ed Bouchette
2:12
Mason takes no snaps with the first offense and runs the scout team only on Wednesday, when Ben does not practice and Josh Dobbs runs the offense. So there's not much to report.

With regards to Boswell, I noticed on his last 48 yard kick his plant foot was twisted to the left. This is exactly how it was on the slip in Oakland and I think he would slip on any wet field. Did he always kick this way?
Ed Bouchette
2:13
I have not yet done a detailed look at his technique as you must have done, so I cannot say. When he slipped in Oakland it seemed to me that his plant foot was pointed at the ball.

After the win over the patriots and the defensive stand are you more optimistic about the playoff chances
Ed Bouchette
2:15
That was a good win, maybe offsetting their loss in Oakland. They may need to do it again on Sunday. If they win Sunday, I believe they'll win, no matter what Baltimore does vs. Chargers. I'm sure they would love to clinch this weekend to make that Bengals game finale essentially their playoff bye.

Is deferring to defer the kickoff the new Tomlin trend?
Ed Bouchette
2:15
He said he did it to keep the ball away from Brady first

Are the Steelers allowed to wear their color rush uniforms every game? Best looking uniforms by far
Ed Bouchette
2:16
I prefer their regular uniforms, although with the block numbers as their throwbacks were this year.

2:16
Is Boswell with the Steelers for the duration of the season?
Ed Bouchette
2:17
Looks like it. I asked MT today if anything changed there and he said he's sticking with Boswell.

why is there no discussion about how poorly Tomlin finished the 1st half? He just allowed the pats to sub... no subbbing defense to stop the snap, no time out, etc-
Ed Bouchette
2:19
I thought they played it perfectly. Had he called a timeout, Pats might have opted to go for it on 4th-and-1. When a  team does that, sends its offense off the field and puts on the punt team, the proper response by the defense is to stay on defense and drop someone back -- that someone was Joe Haden. No need to do anything else in that situation. The announcers, I heard, thought it was brilliant by Belichick. Right.

Ed, is the yinzer who placed  the 11 grand wager, Pittsburgh's version of Jimmy "The Greek" Snyder? Isn't he about as accurate as Jimmy was?
