Good afternoon, let's begin
Matt
1:56
Ed, any chance Steelers bring back Doug Whaley in any capacity?
Ed Bouchette
1:57
A Pittsburgh native, he was their pro personnel man for a long time before he went to Buffalo. There could always be a chance because he left on good terms, but I've heard nothing regarding it and I'm not sure in what capacity he would work if they even did hire him.

Ed: I think the NFL is at its peak popularity.  For the most part the league fields a quality product. Down the line though I think the product will begin to suffer as fewer young boys are choosing to play football. Fans will be turned off by an inferior game and invest their fall Sundays elsewhere. If you were an owner wouldn't you consider selling now to get the maximum price for your franchise?
Ed Bouchette
1:59
I do not think the NFL is in danger of any big popularity decline any time soon.

For one game, everything on the line, who would you throw to, Swann, Stallworth, Ward, or Brown? Very tough choice, and I'll understand if you choose not to answer.
Ed Bouchette
2:00
Even if all four lined up in the same offense, I don't think I'd be able to get the ball to any of them.

Hi Ed....Whats the current scoop on L Bell injury? Really excited about what I'm reading bout T J !!
Ed Bouchette
2:01
No scoop, really. He had a groin injury, he had surgery to repair it and I'm told he's coming along just fine.

I really hope Tomlin and his coaching staff take notice how the Penguins Head Coach Mike Sullivan  changed, corrected, and adjust the Pens defensive and offensive schemes from Playoff series to series, Playoff game to game, and even in the middle of the Playoff games to win instead of doing the same old garbage and losing in the Playoffs. In particular the Patriots.
Ed Bouchette
2:02
When did the Penguins play the Patriots?

2:03
We as fans think it's so easy to fix everything. When in reality it takes years of hard world, great coaching, and a little luck to win Super Bowls. with no major injuries or suspensions how close do u believe this team is to winning a super bowl?
Ed Bouchette
2:03
They contended last season, they should contend again in this one
John
2:03
Will leveon get a new contract before the deadline? I'm getting worried.
Ed Bouchette
2:04
One way or another, it will be "new" because he will either play under a new one-year deal for $12.12M or they will sign him to a new multiple-year deal. I believe he will play under the one-year franchise deal

Apparently AB is now best friends with King Roger, and is saying he's the best commissioner.  Can we now expect  a tweet from Harrison saying he isn't inconvenienced at all and loves taking drug tests?
Ed Bouchette
2:05
I would not hold my  breath on that one, dear reader
Chris

Will steelers bring in daryl washington for a look, says he wants to play for cowboys or steelers... thank you
Ed Bouchette
2:06
I'd like to join the royal family, too, and that's not happening either.

I saw Big Dan has slimmed down a bit in the offseason. Have you noticed any change in his performance so far even though they have only been wearing shorts so far? Not sure if that has led to an increase in quickness or anything like that or not?
Ed Bouchette
2:07
That would be the second straight year that Daniel McCullers has slimmed down. He needs to pick his game up more than anything.

I know it's early, but what will the Steelers' record be this year after 16 games?  Need to get home field advantage.
Ed Bouchette
2:07
I haven't given that much thought, but will when we get closer to the regular season opener

A question about Justin Hunter.  Since the Steelers signed him as a free agent, aren't they obligated to pay him a certain amount and thus less likely to cut him?  Thanks.
Ed Bouchette
2:08
I believe he got a small  bonus, and that is all he can count on.

Hello Ed. If DeMarcus Ayers has a good camp and proves his special teams value does he have a leg up on DHB especially since Rogers is in the last year of his contract and AYers also being a slot WR? Thank you
Ed Bouchette
2:10
DA has an uphill fight to make the 53-man roster this year. It's not just him vs. DHB either. They added Martavis Bryant, JuJu and Hunter to the list of wide receivers and the first two have the roster made.

What will it take to finally get Foster to a Pro Bowl?  What more can he do to get recognized outside Pittsburgh?
Ed Bouchette
2:10
The Steelers put two players in the Pro Bowl last year, Pouncey and DeCastro. In my opinion, Marcus Gilbert also deserves it. It's rare 3 make it.

I think Le'Veon Bell's absence from minicamp and OTA's, in addition to not signing his franchise tender as of yet speaks volumes. As great as he is I just don't see him here long term. Your thoughts?
Ed Bouchette
2:12
As I mentioned, I believe he will play on a one-year deal in 2017 and go from there. There is not much longevity for many running backs as it is.

Hi Ed. What's your take on James Harrison's HOF credentials?  I know his sack total doesn't come close to some of the top pass rushers in the HOF, but James didn't become a starter until later in his career and also had coverage responsibilities as a starter somewhat limiting his potential sack numbers.  He was one of the most feared LB's for at least a good 5 year stretch.
Ed Bouchette
2:13
He also won NFL defensive player of the year in 2008, which is a big help. But you are right, his sack totals are not as high as others and he will always be fighting the fact that so many Steelers have made the HOF and a few more will be knocking on he door such as Faneca, who made the final 15 last year in his first try, and Polamalu, coming up in 2 years.

Why only a four-year contract for TJ Watt instead of a five-year contract? Advantage: Watt?
Ed Bouchette
2:14
All draft picks sign 4-year contracts. The only difference is that first-rounders can have a fifth option year the club can pick up.

Hello Ed.  When was the last time the Steelers had both active starting OLBs achieve double-digit sacks?
Ed Bouchette
2:16
In 2010, when James Harrison had 10.5 and LaMarr Woodley 10

What 3 TE's are your early predictions of making the final 53?
Ed Bouchette
2:17
Jesse James, Xavier Grimble and David Johnson
MARK FROM SAUQUOIT NY

Its premature to say Senquez Golson won't make the 53. Reading so much of it lately.  What do you think?
