Good afternoon, let's begin
Mark O'Keefe

Who is next in line to run the Steelers once Art Rooney Jr. steps down? Will it be one of his brothers or one of his sons. I assume they're grooming someone as we speak.
Ed Bouchette
1:58
The Steelers president is Art Rooney II. Art Rooney Jr. is his uncle, one of Dan's brothers. Art II has, to my knowledge, no plans to step down. However, the PG wrote a story last year that the most logical one to succeed him would be his son, Dan, who has had various jobs in the organization including scout and now assistant on the coaching staff

Will the Steelers keep both rookie quarterbacks on their 53 man roster? If not, who stays, Houston or Dobbs?
Ed Bouchette
1:58
Joshua Dobbs was a fourth-round draft choice, so I assume it will be him as the No. 3 QB. They never keep four

Hi ad was wondering why they won't pick up at a veteran D-Back like Darrell Revis to help the youngsters it only makes sense I don't think he would require a big payday now thanks
Ed Bouchette
1:59
Because Darrell Revis' playing days are over.
Rob from Jersey

Wondering how certain players are looking and doing?
Ed Bouchette
2:00
Those players you are asking about are doing just fine.

How about this as a Red Zone solution? JJ Watt is a converted TE with great hands who could be put in and giving us 3 guys at 6'5"ish with James and Bryant.
Ed Bouchette
2:01
That would be great if you could get the Houston Texans to give the Steelers T.J. Watt's brother, J.J.

Why do so many seem to believe Alejandro Villanueva deserves a new contract when he is only 3 years into his career and still essentially a rookie?
Ed Bouchette
2:02
Since he has started the past 1 1/2 seasons, he is not essentially a rookie. The Steelers are among those who believe he deserves a new contract because they have been negotiating with his agent for one. They just have nor or cannot come to terms on just how much that contract would pay.

First thank you for your input and wisdom but DHB seems to be having quite a resurgence in his career in Pittsburgh any chance he could step into the #2 wide out Bryant cant quite be trusted yet. thank you.
Ed Bouchette
2:04
DHB has done a decent job with the Steelers and played with the right attitude and done well on special teams and as an occasional receiver. But he is not going to be No. 2.

Hi Ed, What stops teems from making under the table deals to players to circumvent the salary cap ? Seems there could be multiple ways of doing it, either now or future job positions to name a few.
Ed Bouchette
2:05
I've always thought the same thing. We have no proof it has occurred -- and none that it has not.
Jeff
2:05
I see Conner's Jersey is a top seller what if any are your impression of him backing up Bell.
Ed Bouchette
2:06
I think James Conner was an excellent draft choice and will be a good backup to Le'Veon Bell.

2:06
Hi Ed...was there really any surprise to L. Bell not being there...does it matter isn't the issue real training camp and being there
Ed Bouchette
2:06
As you might have read in my story in today's PG, no it really does not matter right now.
Joey
2:06
Ed, doesn't Dan Rooney (one you assume would eventually take over) live in Charlotte? Or has he moved back to Pittsburgh?
Ed Bouchette
2:07
THAT Dan Rooney, the brother of Art II, is a Steelers scout who lives in N.C. The Dan Rooney I was talking about is Art's son, as I mentioned.

There are a couple of contracts up in the air - Bell, AV, Tuitt (I'm discounting Watt, since there's no way he doesn't sign a deal). When one gets done, might it have a domino effect? Are they purposefully holding off until after a few summer activities?
Ed Bouchette
2:09
The Steelers wold sign all three right now if they could come to terms, but it takes two sides to come to terms. When they have not, usually it is because the player wants more and the club wants him to take less. I think Tuitt will get done sometime during preseason, when those things usually get done. I don't think Bell's will get done and I'm not sure Al Villanueava will either.

Talking only about these 3 sports: Baseball, Hockey and Football...Is Pittsburgh the City with more Championships? Is there another city with more titles in these 3 sports than Pittsburgh?
Ed Bouchette
2:10
I believe New York might have many, many more with the Yankees, Giants, Jets, Knicks, Mets and Rangers. That might be unfair because of all the sports but that's the way it is.
Taz
2:11
Is Watt the most dedicated rookie the Steelers have ever had when it comes to learning the playbook?
Ed Bouchette
2:11
I'm not sure how much of it he has learned. That's a statement we will never know is correct or not. How do you know if Joe Greene, for example, didn't know more?
Slim
2:11
Did Bell show up today? I'm not sure what time players needed to show up at today.
Ed Bouchette
2:11
No, he did not.
2:12
Bell also is not required to show up because he has not signed a contract. He could still have voluntarily done so, though.
Alejandro Villanueva, who has not signed a contract, is here.

Speaking of Le"veon. No show a statement or nothing to be concerned with?
Ed Bouchette
2:13
Both. I think it is a statement and there is nothing to be concerned about.

Ed...Really love your chats. Informative and entertaining...I read where the Steelers would offer Bell somewhere in the 10 million per range, less than he'll make this year, but more than any other back. Do you think he'd take it?
Ed Bouchette
2:15
The guarantees would tell the tale, not necessarily the average per year.
Charles
2:15
Hi Ed. Do you know how Jack Lambert is doing these days?
Ed Bouchette
2:15
As far as I know, he is fine. He does the occasional autograph show, but rarely many appearances.

Mr. Bouchette, I know that it is not commonplace of there Steelers, but would it make sense to bring on James Harrison as strength coach once he hangs it up -- maybe after this coming season?
