T.J. Watt, but then you knew that. Sutton has looked good. Josh Dobbs looks so much better throwing the ball than he did in the spring. 7th rounder Keion Adams at OLB has opened camp strong

Ed, with Will Gay's age and possibly him being the weak link in secondary is there serious consideration to use him as a backup at safety as well as slot corner...that is assuming or hoping Cam Sutton can contribute as a rookie?
Ed Bouchette
2:21
I thought that might happen, but I'm not sure that still is a possibility.

What's the latest on the Senquez Golson? Do you think he will make the team if it's a minor injury?
Ed Bouchette
2:21
He had an uphill climb even if healthy and practicing every day. Sitting out with even a minor injury does little to convince them to keep him.

What is your prediction of what will happen to Sammie Coates? Does he make the team, etc.?
Ed Bouchette
2:22
Like Golson, Sammie has to get on the field and show that he has overcome his injuries and his loss of confidence

Would Myron Cope be be eligible for the Hall of Honor?  Terrible towel legacy would fit the criteria right?  Sorry if dupplicated.
Ed Bouchette
2:24
Myron was not part of the organization and the criteria they listed today did not seem to fit for him. Of course, they could always change the criteria or make an exception but my guess is, no, Myron will not be eligible for the Hall of Honor.

For a major business/corporation that the NFL is, how can they be so incompetent about deciding on players availabilty?  Like Bell last year, are we going to have to wait until the season just about starts for word on Martavis?
Ed Bouchette
2:24
You sound as though you are a Steelers coach because I think those are the same questions Mike Tomlin might have for the NFL.

Landry Jones is below average (doesn't produce even with AB & LB at his disposal) and Joshua Dobbs is a project. If this is to be a SB run type of year, why not go Full Metal Yankee and bring in a Kaepernick, or RGIII (who almost beat Stillers at home), or someone who can step in and play?
Ed Bouchette
2:25
Let's wait until next year to see first if Ben sticks around.

After losing players like Miller, Polamalu, etc. over the last few seasons who what players would you say have stepped up into leadership roles on the team?  Thanks
Ed Bouchette
2:27
Ben, many of the offensive linemen, Cam Heyward, Mike Mitchell, Stephon Tuitt and I think you'll see Ryan Shazier do it more

Ed, is it possible that L Bell will not return until after training camp? If Conner is playing well that will motivate him to return.
Ed Bouchette
2:27
Conner playing well will have no effect on Bell's return. I don't think you will see him at Saint Vincent this summer.

How long can Bell hold out before he starts getting fined?
Ed Bouchette
2:28
They don't fine, they would simply dock him weekly checks starting with the first regular season game. I don't think you will see that happen.

Do you think if LB26 has a very good year do you think he will have priced himself out of here?
Ed Bouchette
2:30
No, I think they will put the franchise tag on him again for 2018

Who will be the top backup at ILB?
Ed Bouchette
2:32
Tyler Matakevich behind Vince Williams. Still figuring out who Ryan Shazier's replacement would be, possibly Stevie Johnson or Fort

Would you agree that at beginning of camp (on paper) - this team seems to be as strong as any Steeler team since the last Super Bowl appearance?
Ed Bouchette
2:34
Yes. Now they have to get some of those guys off the paper and onto the practice field.
Thanks for another great chat. See you next Tuesday.
