Saltsburg beat West Sham last year and what’s there record so far this year?
Gazette Sports
Just for reference: Northern Cambria is the conference's largest 1A school with 120 boys. Saltsburg is the smallest with 69.
7:31
5:13 in the first Bell Vernon 27, Indiana 0
7:29
End of the first quarter: Penns Manor 6, Saltsburg 6
7:28
Purchase Line's Kyle Day, 6-yard run, Logan McCracken kick, Purchase Line 21, Blairsville 0, 1:44 left in the 1st quarter
7:26
I think Ab is a little bit used to criticism.

7:25
someone please explain to ex coach ab  that he should be a silent color analyst. quit criticizing every play these young men give there all for   they are out there giving their hearts and bodies

Bog head, you are absolutely correct, but the problem is that there are 100 more kids to try to get to work hard. Schools with 60-80 kids don’t stand a chance. Ligonier is an excellent program - kudos to them and their work ethic. Just send them and Mc and WS to play with other schools their size
Gazette Sports
7:25
And you're right: Ligonier Valley didn't happen by accident. But it sure does help having those Laurel Valley kids.
Again, it's not just football. Volleyball, basketball, cross country ... I don't want my teams traveling all over the place every night of the week. There's cost to that, too.
7:23
Max Hill with a 6-yard TD pass to Dimitri Lieb for Penns Manor.  Kick blocked.  Saltsburg and Penns Manor tied at 6 with 2 left in the first quarter
Jim D
7:22
Travel is a poor excuse. Saltsburg travels to Northern Cambria... conemaugh valley, ferndale or Shade is no different.
Gazette Sports
7:22
Avonworth scores on a 54-yard run and goes up two TDs on Apollo-Ridge.

Freaking WPAIL is the Only Conference that is recognized!! Sickening!!
Bighead
7:21
Doesn’t matter how many kids they have problem is NO ONE works out as hard as those boys do no I’m not from Ligonier Valley I’m actually from one of the North schools in the heritage but I know for a fact they want it more
Gazette Sports
7:21
7:50, Belle Vernon 21, Indiana 0
7:20
But then there all kinds of travel issues, and it's not just for football. People don't like Indiana in the WPIAL because it has trouble competing in football. But it's great for other sports.
Jim D
7:19
Conferences are the problem. There are 18 single A schools in district 6, let them play each other and let the AA schools play each other. Forget the old conferences and move to something that makes sense
Gazette Sports
7:19
Fortunately West Shamokin got out of the WPIAL and is a nice fit for the conference.

Jim D. couldn't agree more!!
Puddy 76
7:18
Thank God Bishop Carrol is out of the Picture!!
Gazette Sports
Blacklick Valley would be an obvious choice.
7:18
That's always been the problem. Who's out there. The Cambria and Somerset schools were int he Appalachian Conference way back when and that was a mess with three divisions.
7:17
Purchase Line's Josh Syster, 22 yard run, Logan McCracken kick, Purachase line 14, Blairsville 0, 5:22 left in the 1st quarter
Allen F.
Would the Heritage look to expand if that was the case?  If so who would/could be invited?
7:16
Thanks for the info...does that make the the biggest?
Gazette Sports
Avonmore stops an Apollo-Ridge drive with an interceptions and turns it into a touchdown for a 7-0 lead.
7:16
The thing is, if you want to play 10 games, you have to play someone. Remember when there were nine teams and schools were going all over the place to play?
9:37, Bell Vernon 14, Indiana 0
7:15
There are only three 2As in the conference.
Jim D
7:15
Allen F - they have too many kids to be playing teams like Saltsburg or United. The District needs to realign it’s schools by enrollment like the WPIAL
Gazette Sports
7:14
171 for Marion Center. 162 for West Shamokin.
That is large for a 2A school
Miller 1 run pass failed Lignoier Valley 13, West Shamokin 0
7:13
Ligonier Valley has 197 boys for the 19-20 classification year.
7:12
Looking that up.
Allen F.
7:12
How large is Ligonier Valley in terms of student body to other Heritage schools?
Gazette Sports
Beard 7 yard pass from Sheeder, Beard kick, Ligonier Valley 7, West Shamokin 0
7:09
United has a bunch of kids in the junior high program so they'll be OK next year. But it is a shame. Too bad for the kids.
7:08
Purchase Line's Josh Syster, 46 Yard pass from Jacob Barnett, Logan McCracken kick, Purchase Line 7, Blairsville 0, 9:31 left in the 1st quarter
