Is it possible the Padres convince the BoSox to take Kemp, Melvin Upton and Shields for Castillo, Panda and 2 AAA starters? It would mean the BoSox would be desperate to dump 2 mistakes for a marginal return. Sort of a reverse of the LA bailout of the BoSox a few years ago.

No, but my research did show that the link between changeup swinging strike rate and overall K% was the weakest -- I think because the change gets a lot of weak contact and gets used as a super sinker. We may not see more strikeouts from him.
