Note: Carleton's math on TTO vs pitch count had some serious flaws (check out the discussion on Tango's site if interested). Seems pretty solid that the TTO penalty exists, and is a big deal independent of pitch count.

I think it needs to end, but it does exist. Ideally, it's the hitting and pitching coaches that are the best conduits between the players and the FO.
