It's Archer's hair messing up his velocity
Eno Sarris
12:29
Phew.

Stash Trea Turner NOW or is it going to be June?
Eno Sarris
12:30
Espinosa being patient and the team is rolling. No need to do it right now, especially since we know the Nats are a little suspicious of Turner's D at short -- they played him at second with Desmond at short!

Half question/half rant: Any clue why Collins keeps pinch hitting for Conforto against any lefty even if the Mets are up big? Seems like the best ways to get better against lefties is to actually face them from time to time. And why does Granderson never sit against lefties. He has a career OBP under .300 against them. Last year he hit a robust .183/.273./.286 against them.
Eno Sarris
12:30
Yup.

Which stadium that's not ridiculously far away should I visit this summer? (Located in NY).
Eno Sarris
12:31
I'm trying to finish up the Beer Guide, and Baltimore is done. It looks like a decent beer town, with crabs, and a great stadium. Philly cheaper and great beer scene.

Daniel Murphy is insane right now. Are there any numbers to back up his start this far?
Eno Sarris
12:35
He's just selling out for power, an old bat's trick. Pulling the heck out of the ball and trading whiffs for homers. I think pitchers will adjust a bit and the average will tank, and then you're left with a guy that sold out for 14 homers. He's decent but not top-three at his position.

If the increase in velocity brings with it an increase in TJS, will that reverse the trend, either naturally or via some MLB anti-injury initiative? Or will a high level of TJS be the new normal?
Eno Sarris
12:36
MLB is going to do its best in the amateur ranks. TJ is here to stay. Maybe we'll make some advancement in the surgery, but this is the new reality.

are you worried about liriano?
Eno Sarris
12:38
Yes! For one, he's always injured. Velocity down last few games. I'm worried.

Is Yasmany Tomas showing signs of improvement, if not a complete breakout?
Eno Sarris
12:38
Yes. And I don't get it. Even meaningful small sample stuff is looking good for him -- swing rates, reach rates, gb/fb, pull/oppo stuff. He got more fit, and his approach is better.

Greinke is coming around, right? Better results yesterday. Great article about his slider, BTW!
Eno Sarris
12:39
Yeah I think he'll be fine.

For all the luders and ludettes. From the non-Felix King. These are real (and for sale at auction).

I asked Sullivan something similar and your Shane Greene article shed some light on this too, but I think I found a better example and want your take. How does it make sense for a LH curve to have a positive value for horizontal movement? Brooks has Drew Smyly's curves listed at 2.68 this year.

12:41
Read my 'invent a new pitch' piece. I think he's just super over the top, and that can happen when you are.

Any chance VV moves to the closer role to preserve his innings?
Eno Sarris
12:41
Interesting. Something may happen, but I bet it's a long break over the ASG and a phantom injury and an early finish.

Eno, I live in Bells country. They have a new beer out, Oatsmen. It's a session IPA made with oatmeal. I ordered one last night. It tastes just like every other IPA out on the market

BREAKING NEWS!

Graveman appears to be making a jump yet most projections don't really like him. should we expect something similar to kyle hendricks the rest of the way or is he a step above that?
Eno Sarris
12:42
I think that's a decent present comp. Remember, that's a great return on your investment.

12:43
Ken Giles just unlucky right? HRs won't be a problem for him moving further at least under 1 per 9 right?
Eno Sarris
12:43
Yeah I did finally drop him in an 11-teamer because I have to chase saves, but he's got good stuff, still. I think he'll be fine, just maybe not the closer.
Hannah Hochevar
12:44
Oakland OF preference (speed desirable but, overall is fine): Coco "Don't Call Me Cookie" Crisp or Chris "One Nail in the" Coghlan?
Eno Sarris
12:44
Coghlan. Gives you flexibility if he works out.

Eno if Curry still isn't ready for next series are ready to answer the call

Got my ankle up on a stool right now, I'm out 2 weeks at least.

Is Mesoraco worthless?

No.

U like Pomeranz or Finnegan more? Both seem intriguing on back end of fantasy rotation.
Eno Sarris
12:45
I like Pomeranz park more, so in a redraft, maybe him. But Finnegan in a keeper, he has more pitches.
