He was always a meh option at closer with that velocity and pitching mix. Too many sliders, you hang em, they bang em. Even with a bit more velo in San Diego they never wanted him to close.

Trying to flip xander for an elite arm (also have Correa). Currently sitting in 1st, but pitching is weak with Cueto and not much behind him. Keep forever, deepish 16 teamer. If I can get Kershaw straight up do I do it? Other offer is Arrieta/Trea.

I think in his best year he might .320/.400/.520, which should be good for 30+ homers. Love that dude. Power with contact and a good approach.

He's older than people think because of his back story, so there's some chance he doesn't have great upside, but he should be able to do something that would look like .285/20/10 over a full season.
