Why does Cameron Rupp not gat any attention? He made some changes to his swing, and looks like a capable starting catcher with pretty legit power.
Eno Sarris
12:32
Statcast darling. I traded for him in a keeper league and it only cost Brandon Finnegan.
Gary Sanchez
12:32
I'm here to inject this chat with power.
Eno Sarris
12:32
I think I'd keep that verb away from that noun.

Do you think Joc is ever not a platoon guy?
Eno Sarris
12:34
He had a 91 wRC+ against lefties last year! I'm surprised they've done this to him. I know it was a small sample, but he's a patient enough hitter that he can provide value with walks low in the order v LHP.

Don't you ever leave again, Eno
Eno Sarris
12:34
Sorry! If it makes you feel better, vacation was exhausting.

Should I drink Cholorophyll?
Eno Sarris
12:35
I've used it time to time for my stomach issues and haven't found great results.

Any thoughts on Rob Segedin? Flash in the pan rookie or possibly legit?
Eno Sarris
12:36
27 now... Took him a while. Didn't show this power until this year. Projections are for meh defense at a corner position and below-league average bat, and I don't know enough to say that's wrong.

Is Dahl a Keeper inside the Top 10 Rds next year? What would you set his HR and SBs at next year?
Eno Sarris
12:37
Yeah I do think he is. Looks like a regular now, and should hit at least .275 with 15/15 type baseline and more power upside.

12:38
Javier Baez - batting average fluke or new normal resulting from adjustment?
Eno Sarris
12:38
Certainly made an adjustment and hits the ball really hard. I could see some fluctuation around .260, but mostly this is real.

12:39
Kyle Schwarber or Gary Sanchez in dynasty?
Eno Sarris
12:40
It actually depends on the league. Because in the shallower leagues, I'll take Schwarber's definite power. But the deeper you go, if it's a two-catcher league, that sort of thing, I'll take Sanchez, who should play more catcher.

Dynasty Question: What return should I look for two plus years of control of Trout at $2? OBP/SLG league with twelve teams and 40 man rosters
Eno Sarris
12:41
Everything.

12:41
FYI- since your talk about choking up Ive been trying it with great results in softball. Next I need to try tight pants.

And a knuckle curve!

As a representative of the good people of Somerville, Massachusetts, I must report that my people are telling me that all hope is lost and life is not worth living without Benintendi. What should I tell them, other than reminding them that they'd never heard of the guy two months ago.
Eno Sarris
12:42
We've got another guy you've never heard of coming down the pipe that will be great, get hyped! (It'll work no matter who ever it is.)

How bad of a bruising am I cruising for if I start both Berrios and Norris today, AL? Would you touch either?
Eno Sarris
12:43
Norris has a decent matchup in a good park!

12:43
Start Eduardo R tomorrow? Seems like he's turned a corner if that hammy can just hang in there
Eno Sarris
12:43
Harder slider has been good. Nice park, I'd give him a shot.
12:44
German! this is "Ich Bin Nackt" which translates to "I am naked."

12:45
How is it decided what you get to vote for? Why do you get an AL MOY vote instead of a NL ROY vote? Thanks!
Eno Sarris
12:45
I'm in the bay area pool and not a beat for either side, so I guess I'm eligible for either side. Have not decided. Want to get with Jeff Zimmerman and Sean Dolinar and design a couple stats to help me decide.

12:46
Matt Boyd. Yay or nay?
Eno Sarris
12:47
He's still losing a full mph from the first to the fifth, which I don't love. But I see a riser, a good chagne, a decent slider... just a few too many homers on the fastball to give him a grade A stamp of approval, could be a bad fastball guy. But there's something there.

Are a lot of young guys tinkering with grips as much as Manaea?
Eno Sarris
12:48
Yup. Sonny Gray was doing it during starts while on the mound.

Now that G Polanco has improved against LH pitching, do you think he can develop into a .300 hitter?
Eno Sarris
12:48
Always thought he could.

Can Statcast spin rates tell you anything about a pitcher's "stuff" that Pitch FX velocity and movement data can't? If spin is only useful insofar as it creates movement, what's to be gained by looking at the spin rate in addition to the horizontal and vertical movement of a pitch? Thanks.
Eno Sarris
12:49
I think there's a chance you can tweak a guy's arm slot and take more advantage of spin. Because spin plus arm slot (and a few more mechanics, like extension) creates movement, so if you have spin, maybe you can Rich Hill the arm slot and get Rich Hill.
