dropped 3rd strike rule came about when Ty Cobb would just run after he K'd but he took the bat with him and everyone was just like 'eh eff it give him the base' rather than confront him

When you're evaluating a pitch, what do you look at other than swinging strike rates and ground ball rates? Pop-up rate? Foul ball rate? Average exit velocity against the pitch? Or is it better just to stick to looking at swinging strike rates and ground ball rates?
Eno Sarris
12:54
I've been just using swSTR and GB. The rest, you start degrading the sample a ton.

What are the chances Corey Seager wins MVP?
Eno Sarris
12:55
I mean I think it's about 50/50 with him and Bryant right now.

Headed to Minneapolis this weekend. What breweries should I be planning to spend my money at (since I think I'll have some to spare after buying Twins tickets right now)? All I know is Surly and Indeed,

Hey eno what do you think of putting Liriano in the bullpen? Do you think he will do well? Thanks
Eno Sarris
12:57
Sometimes command improves in the bullpen for fatigue/mechanics/third pitch command reasons. If they have a better option, he should be good in the pen.

Is Trea(t) Turner in CF for good?
Eno Sarris
12:57
Yeah I think so. Which is fine.
EC
12:57
Because he's a treat to watch play baseball.
Eno Sarris
12:57
well done.

I totally missed the 3rd baseman on that batting order. You think that when Smith gets healthy Kemp and Markinkas end up a platoon in left? What kind of deal is Sandoval on? Is it high monetary-low value?
Eno Sarris
12:59
I'm ruined for Markakis' name forever, thanks to you. Pablo due $58 million for next three years, but what if the Red Sox ate (damn that verb choice) a decent amount of it.

Keep Gary Sanchez or Moncada at whatever value Yahoo assigns him at the start of next year. (yes, an annoying rule to be sure) 6x6 H2H keep 6. Can only keep 1 in year pickup.
Eno Sarris

Good thing you don't have to decide now. Right now, I'd take Sanchez.

Baseball players live lives that very few others live. And they're young! And he just moved out of his house. Probably just wants the company.

What are some easy ways to determine if a pitch's vertical or horizontal movement are good or not? Are there some rough baseline numbers you use?
Eno Sarris
1:02
Here are the averages! http://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/the-change-average-movement-for-each-pitch-type/ More drop (lower vertical number) is pretty much better for every pitch other than the four-seamer, where ride (higher vertical number) is better.

Dangerous Man for sure, get the peanut butter porter. Not far from Indeed. Avoid Able Seed, imo. If you like sours, go to Fair State, love Fair State.

Kiermaier? Really, it should be a shorter person, you're right.

Mookie Betts not having Fenway as a home park. A 5 WAR player instead of 7?
Eno Sarris
1:05
Still a .190 ISO away from home instead of .230. And our park factors should catch that for offensive production.
