Not sure. He's more of a deeper league guy, wait and see. But high spin rate fastball, plus slider, and a change he's learning feel for. Right now I think he's sixth or seventh, counting Hughes ahead of him.

I like that the walk rate was there most of the time even as the power disappeared. Statcast said he was going to fall off before he did, so he does need to hit the ball a little harder. I still like him.

Baltimore and Chicago (AL) have had some luck, maybe. They still have their fair share of injuries, and I can't believe there's a secret sauce.

You get about 40% of your postseason gate, and the Giants made $3m per game in the postseason in 2012 I think. They played 13 games, so maybe they made an extra $15-20 million? Maybe more in 2016. Also: winning puts more buts in the seats next year (usually), so there's some money there.

The draft pick is a major source of separation between the two. Otherwise, they're two of the top three or four free agent relievers in the last ten years.

So Cabrera to Houston has merit. What about a bigger deal - Verlander and Cabrera (maybe a small amount of money) for Martes, Reed, K Tucker. Salary dump successful, and a good return.
