Why do projections seem to like Tampa Bay more than common sense? Is it one big blind spot, or lots of little reasons adding up?

I think it's a bit of the no-holes thing, which is hard to appreciate. If you look at their projections, only one position is projected for less than two wins by rounding error. And then the same is true of the pitching staff, I guess.

They have a weird collection of pitchers that projection systems won't like, but have proven themselves at least over the last few years. Happ's two very-different fastballs, Estrada's high-spin curve, and Sanchez' unliftable sinker are possibly projection breakers. I sometimes think that one great pitch can do that.
