Not a catcher or a pitcher, so despite chance of recency bias, Acuna.

Moncada has an elite arm and speed. He doesn't seem to be any good on the IF. Why don't the Sox just write this year off and groom him as a CF, in AAA? Giolito does look bad, agreed.
Eno Sarris
12:41
I'm thinking Moncada might be a CF yeah.

12:41
Are you on record about Eric Thames?
Eno Sarris
12:41
I'll buy below his projections value and above his ADP. Cautious like I guess.

Who closes for cubbies when Wade Davis gets hurt again? This Rondon stinks
Eno Sarris
12:42
STROP! Maybe Carl Edwards, but Strop's slider deserves some love too.

If the Philippines had a team in the WBC my owner would be their best player.

If Baez had missed that tag, Brian HISTORY OF THE GAME McCann would have appeared behind him in a Grim Reaper costume.

A cock, a beaver, and a sperm whale walk into a bar and order a beer. Who gets laughed at first?

Pretty desperate for an answer. Keepers lock tonight. Final Keeper Bregman or Tanaka 7x7 w/ Standard+ SLG/OBP and QS/BAA... already keeping 4 hitters including Donaldson so Bregman would be util. Tanaka would be SP2 behind Cueto
Eno Sarris
12:43
I keep Bregman I don't care. I don't keep a lot of pitchers in keep five situations.

I was reviewing my teams from previous years and i'm really bad at keeping my WHIP down. Please help.
Eno Sarris
12:44
Add a reliever spot?
Hector
12:44
Hypothetical - if Trout had Kiermaier's defense could he make a case for a top 5 of all time, or something outlandish like that?
Eno Sarris
12:44
Yes. He's already making that kind of case.
Gest
12:45
Do you buy sano's projections? They are a little loftier than I expected
Eno Sarris
12:45
He has elite power. My question is how many plate appearances he'll have and I'm not sure he's injury prone. He might be.
Gest
12:45
Have you heard anything about Jameson Taillon's new changeup grip? Do you know if it's made for an improvement?
Eno Sarris
12:46
I have his start to watch, got it recorded. it's a two-seam grip, so it should have more movement. Might be the ticket. Command was off in first inning yesterday.

So this yr, I am trying to do something a tad different with my pitching. I want to model my rotation based on something I came across from Ron Shandler. I want to draft skills (k/9 [8+], BB/9, IP, etc.), all with data going back three seasons (aiming for some stability). I am sure this has been done before. So, in practical terms, I'll be trying to pair up a Lester (IP & BB/9) with a Robby Ray (K/9), and so forth. Would you advice against doing this? Just draft based on tiers? I've modeled my tiers based on yours and Paul's.
Eno Sarris
12:47
One problem with that approach is injury. If you're only getting guys with three-year track records, your team will be old and more likely to be injured. AS for the skills thing, yeah, draft guys based on skills more than results, that makes sense. And I do like varying it up so you don't have all one kind of pitcher on your squad.
Cool guy
12:47
Can you order these SPs based on potential for boosting long term value? Blair, AJ Cole, Wisler, Brault, Kuhl, Jake Thompson
Eno Sarris
12:48
Cole Wisler uhhhhhh

I'm a super deep sleeper that no one is talking about, but will help win league titles. T or F.

Do you think in say... the next 50 years there will be new pitcher archetypes we haven't seen yet? Do you think it'd be dependent on new batter archetypes appearing?
Eno Sarris
12:50
Robot Umps would create a new archetype, basically a Romo type with two breaking balls. If someone could have a sideways sweeping breaker and a sinker that can nip the corner of the robot zone... and then also add a curveball that can hit the plate?

How do you quantify love
Eno Sarris

Loose Ludes
12:51
my son was born with a male pattern baldness silhouette. I'm confident at some point in adulthood he'll lose his hair in exactly the pattern shown as an infant. My question is how much am I (a man w luscious lox) allowed to taunt him about this as he gets older?
Eno Sarris
12:51
less at first, then as much as humanly possible near the end
E
12:52
The wife and I made brackets and most correct picks wins. What should we bet?
Eno Sarris

If you have kids, wager sleep ins. If not, movie choices.

How many Lowe's could Rob Lowe rob, if Rob Lowe could rob Lowe's?
Eno Sarris
12:52
He'd need a team, obviously. Mark and Sweet could help.

@William Faulkner - but have you read Captain Underpants? If that's not the best written book I may be illiterate
