Thanks for chatting.  How good a SP am I next year and beyond?
Eno Sarris
12:02
I'm a fan!
I'd call him a top 30/40 type
Tony
12:03
Eno,  it's halfway through the season.  Time to admit the Cubs have some serious issues?  They still have the talent and the crappy division but there are holes that were not expected back in April.
Eno Sarris
12:03
I think they've always been looking for pitching
The Average Sports Fan
12:03
Diaz has been disappointing as a closer this year.  You think he holds the job?
Eno Sarris
12:03
I do. Velo still there, strikeouts still there for the most part.

Do the A's deal Khris Davis?
Eno Sarris
12:04
Someone pointed out that he could actually be a nontender candidate, considering how much money arbitration will award him for the homerz. I doubt he'll be nontendered, but that is an argument for trading him.
Tony

What say you in regards to Sonny Gray? Career highs in F-Strike% & SwStr%, but not matching the low Hard% & high IFFB% of his dominant years...
Eno Sarris
12:04
Will enjoy pitching in the National League, will not be happy about pitching in Yankee Stadium.

Is Tyler Flowers going to carry Sean Newcomb (and his 2% CH usage) to greatness? I'll hang up and listen
Eno Sarris
12:06
Talked to both about it, and to some extent Flower is a big part of this. But Newcomb said that the change will come out as he goes on and did also admit that he doesn't command it as well and that he threw it more in the minors. Then he said some stuff that you rarely hear that will be in my piece today.

you got to see bartolo pitch last night. think this kid has a future?

Went to some brewery today, the beer was good but why does it matter when ultimately we will all drink the sweet, sweet nectar of irrevocable death

I don't know why I have these goggles.

Not bad not bad.

Neris seems to be doing better.  Wise to drop doolittle for him?  I've been stashing doolittle hoping he gets job from casilla, but getting impatient.  Thanks.
Eno Sarris
12:07
I'm happy with Neris. Thought for a second they might pump up Neshek with some save opportunities but that's probably a little obvious in today's game.

I'm in 2nd place and 20 games under the projected starts limit in a 12 team roto. Trade for a SP or stream intelligently?
Eno Sarris
12:07
Trade for SP. Streaming is hard, yo, especially in today's run environment.

Do individual player WAR accumulations differ according to position, or is a +5 WAR LF just as valuable to his team as a +5 WAR SP? In other words, does it matter where a team gets its positive WAR from? Can you simply compare the WAR of a SP with the WAR of a batter to determine who has been more valuable?
Eno Sarris
12:09
The whole Idea of WAR is that you can compare between positions. As pitching WAR improves, you can say with more confidence that five wins anywhere is the same.

Keon Broxton or Domingo Santana ROS?
Eno Sarris
12:09
Santana.

Got a multiple part ?

1.  Do the Cubs make a push to not only acquire Gray but also Doolittle from Oakland?

2.  If they acquire Gray is Lackey the guy bumped from the rotation?  Would they possibly consider DFAing Lackey beings he's in the last year of his contract?
Eno Sarris
12:11
Butler gets bumped. Has options. All depends on price for the two, but Oakland would probably make them both available.

Yankees are calling up every prospect under the sun yet Hoskins and Rosario are still just chilling. I have no question here.
Eno Sarris
12:11
Yankees need to win now.

12:12
See anything promising for Mazara in the 2nd half? Seems like the potential is sky high...
Eno Sarris
12:13
Yah I like the incremental improvements in gb/fb and walk rate. That could combine to make for a powerful second half. Still see the potential for a .300/30 guy there because he actually has a two-strike approach and can spray the ball some.
Vegan Man!
12:13
Do you see Justin Turner hitting for more power in the 2nd half?
Eno Sarris
12:14
He was sure of it and he's hitting all the fly balls so I think he'll be okay.

Your thoughts on micheladas (mex beer+lime+hot sauce+worchestershire)?
Eno Sarris
12:15
I dig em.
Eric
12:15
How good do you think Godley is?  His peripherals are very solid and that groundball rate is sick
Eno Sarris
12:15
I dig him.

Do the walks concern you RE Robbie Ray? I have an offer in a dynasty to receive him for my Greg Bird, Villar, Adrian Morejon and Koda Glover.
Eno Sarris
12:15
also the similarity between the curve and the slider are worrisome. Seems like an expensive trade.
