B, you'll need to contact your program, as programs handle this process differently. What program will you be joining?

Thank you, Miranda. May I also ask, what is included in the kitchen?

Dear Will - I will be joining the bioengineering program

Victoria, you'll want to contact Kathy Venit, kvenit@seas.upenn.edu. She's the program coordinator for the BE program.

Miranda- Hi! I am an incoming student with a housing assignment in Sansom Place this fall. Currently, I have 3 charges in my student account balance with the description "Rent-Sansom East Grad." However, I read online that my occupancy does not start until August 24th. Are these charges errors, or is there information that I am missing?

Hi Will, i am an incoming MCIT student with some programming experience from undergrad. I was wondering if i would be able to place out of some of the classes that I already have taken?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:28
Hi MCIT student - probably not, but you'll want to contact the Program Coordinator, Mike Felker, at mfelker@cis.upenn.edu, with that question. That's not something that Graduate Admissions would be able to determine.

Hi Ayankas! If your room has a kitchen, the kitchen will include a refrigerator, over, stovetop, and sink. Kitchens in single apartments have a long countertop. Kitchens in double apartments have a table and two chairs. We do not provide pots and pans or utensils.
10:29
Hi Deonte! I'd be happy to look into that for you! Could you please send me an email with your 8-digit Penn ID number so we can keep your personal information private? My email address is living@upenn.edu.

I will be joining the ESE and I was also wondering, as part of the PhD student hiring process there are several documents we are supposed to fill (like the w4 document), will there be any guidance provided to us on how to fill in those?

B, this is usually provided by the department, and they're the best resource for any questions you may have. Christina Burton is the Program Coordinator, and her email is esegrad@seas.upenn.edu.

Thank you Miranda. I also have the same query as Deonte. I've had 3 charges under the Rent-Sansom East on my Penn.Pay account.

Hi Ayankas! Thanks for the heads up. Could you please send me an email with your 8-digit Penn ID number, and I'll investigate and respond to you individually? My email address is living@upenn.edu.

One more question Miranda. My room# is [SANE-X(odd#)-a] which is Single(shared bath). I want to ask if the bath is shared with room [SANE-X+1(even#)-a] or [SANE-X(odd#)-b]? Since my friend is assigned with [SANE-X+1(even#)-a]. If former case is true, then it will be more convenient to schedule the shower time.
Ayankas
10:37
Thank you Miranda. I'll definitely e-mail you with the rest of the details.

Thank you Will! I'll be in contact with Kathy then. Thank you very much.

I will arrive Penn on 8/22. Is there any method for me to move in to the Sansom on 8/22. Since the rent is started on 8/24, I think.
Miranda Stewart
10:40
Hi DATS-Student! You will be sharing the bathroom with [SANE-X+1(even#)-a]. For example, if your room is ##03-a, you will share the bathroom with the student in room ##04-a.
Ayankas, that sounds great!
DATS-Studnet
10:42
Thank you Miranda, that is very informative!
Miranda Stewart
10:42
DATS-Student, the standard arrival date is August 24, but graduate students may move in as early as August 18 without any prior notice -- just walk up to the information center in the lobby of Sansom East when you're ready to move in. Please note, if you choose to move in early, between August 18 and August 23, you will be charged daily prorated rent for the additional nights prior to August 24.
Ayankas

Will, can you guide me regarding where the on campus employments are posted and should I be applying for one right now or post arriving on campus?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:43
Ayankas, the office is here: http://www.sfs.upenn.edu/seo/. You can start applying right now if you like.

Hello, I am incoming CIS Master student. I have some question regarding the tuition. Since graduate student's tuition changes based on how many course given student enrolls, will be tuition be billed after add & drop is finalized?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:44
Peter, no, tuition bills start once you are registered for courses. You can find more information on the billing website, here: http://www.sfs.upenn.edu/billing/

10:44
Thank you Miranda. Could you tell me how much is the daily prorated rent before 8/24?
Miranda Stewart
10:47
DATS-Student, the daily prorated rent will depend on your room type. If you will be living in a Single-1BR/Shared Bath, the daily prorated rent for early move-in is approximately $32.52 per night.

Hey Will, I am a MSE in Bioengineering student. For my degree requirements its stated that I can do 3 "Engineering/Biomedical Science Electives". Does this include CIT/EAS courses as well?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:53
Sasi, as long as they will count, then yes. You'll want to double check this with the Program Coordinator, Kathy Venit. Her email is kvenit@seas.upenn.edu.

Hi Will, I have another query regarding sending of official transcripts and proof of degree. As per the University I did my undergraduate from, they provide an attested photocopy of the degree along with official transcript in a sealed envelope and I will have to courier it post that. Is that acceptable per UPenn standards?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
10:54
Ayankas, yes, that should be fine. However, if you don't already have it, we recommend having the university send it to us.
