Can you shed a little light on Nick Martini? It's hard to find any sort of scouting report on him, but he seems to put together good at bats and the milb plate discipline numbers are great.
Eric A Longenhagen
2:27
Yup, corner guy with above-avg control of the zone, less power than profiles at 1B/OF spots. He's 28, don't think he's a long term starter. More of a bench bat for me.

What is the upside for Madrigal in terms of power?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:28
Wanna see the top hand more involved like it was early in the college season so he's scooping balls and lifting them rather than slashing them down. If he does that then he could be a 15-18 homer guy.

Is there room for me to improve defensively, or is my range really this limited?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:29
I just think he'll eventually be a RF

How effective do you think Luzardo could be in a relief role for the A's during this playoff hunt?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:29
Quite

How high has Daniel Lynch's stock rose since the draft?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:29
Since the draft? None, I feel good about where we had him.

Resly Linares has been pitching very well lately; do the scouting reports match? I know there was some hope that his velocity would tick up as he filled out.

This is a 20y/o Rays lefty pitching well in Low-A. He has strong placement on The Board as well. Projectable lefty, 3/4s slot, short-stride, fastball is actually pretty fringey 88-92 touch a 4 now and then. Curveball is plus, throws a ton of strikes. Lefties who throw strikes and have this kind of breaker are likely big leaguers of some kind, Linares is tracking like a #4/5 starter right now could be more if the body fills out and brings more heat with it.

how do scouts know probable pitchers for high school games?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:33
Agents, coaches, parents. Other scouts. All kinds of ways. I've called athletic directors and high school coaches. You just find a way to figure it out.

Discuss D'Shawn Knowles' future power potential or I will straight dab on your entire family in Fortnite
Eric A Longenhagen
2:34
He's a little guy but his hands have life and he's had good feel for hitting the ball in the air when I've seen him. Pioneer League is accentuating things but he could have 50 pop.
Also PUBG > Fortnite and it isn't close.
Finding Nimmo

Hi.  Started the season with Correa and Devers at SS and 3B.  Picked up Chapman.  My outfielders currently include Trout, Hoskins, Soto, Hicks and Nimmo.  I also have Camargo, a flex bat with SS and 3B eligibility.

Thoughts on unrated Ibandel Isabel? Seems to share a profile with similarly hyped Seuly Mathias and Bobby Dalbec.
Eric A Longenhagen
2:37
80 raw power 1B only guy with contact issues. Dalbec's defensive profile and Seuly's age are huge differences

Are you surprised to see such poor defensive metrics from Acuna in LF? Seems to be the only missing tool for him right now (aside from an unblemished left forearm)
Eric A Longenhagen
2:37
I'd just scrap defensive metrics in that small a sample. Your eyes are probably better than most public metrics right now

Before going down with hand injury, Tirso Ornelas didn’t seem to show his advertised tools. Are we too early on this kid?
Eric A Longenhagen

C'mon folks, why do we care about the stats of a 17 year old in full season ball?

After watching the PG All-American, I would be willing to put money on Riley Greene going to the Rangers in the 2019 draft
Eric A Longenhagen
2:40
Greene clubbed the shit out of the ball during Area Codes. Body/athleticism kinda give me pause but yeah, he rakes.
Mike Kelly has tools

Your thoughts on Bryse Wilson? Can his secondaries make him an asset in the rotation?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:41
He'll be in today's Daily Prospect Notes so check that out later today. I drop a Michael FUlmer comp on him and I hate comps, but when it's right it's right.

Do you see Brendan McKay making it to the majors next season? Seems like he's a better pitcher than hitter (though he appears to have good strike-zone judgement).
Eric A Longenhagen
2:42
Probably not, just because of how TB operates.

Is Julio Rodriguez's performance particularly impressive, or is it just a product of a physically mature guy beating up on less-developed competition? Some combination thereof?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:42
Thinks it's a combo but agree that he's very good.

Who's the more promising elite bat-to-ball young SS: Jose Devers or Wenceel Perez?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:48
Devers : Part of MIA return for Stanton, teen making ton of contact in full-season
Wenceel: DET SS who hit his way out of GCL
Really like both, Wenceel's hand eye is nuts and I think his frame has more room to fill out

Is Anthony Alford going to hit enough for an everyday CF role?
Eric A Longenhagen

Sinking like a stone, last scout I spoke with on him said the bat speed isn't there right now.
