Howdy from lovely Tempe. Chat is starting early today so I can hit Extended at 10, so I'll spare you the links (you know where to find stuff) and get to the Qs

Chances of MacKenzie Gore making the big leagues this year?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:50
Pretty slim. The big club would have to be in some kind of race down to the wire (seems possible) and they'd have to think he were one of the best few options in the org AND the workload stuff needs to line up properly which, after the blister stuff last year, seems tricky
Greg

When's the next mock out?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:50
when we have sufficient info to run one, probably sometime next week
Jon
11:50
Eric, hello! I'll be in Lehigh Valley over the summer; any food recommendations?
Alan
11:52
Where do you think is currently the most likely destination for Hunter Bishop?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:52
I haven't been there for a long time now and a bunch of my favorite places have closed. I'd suggest a fancy dinner at Bolete and Bookstore Speakeasy while you're there. You'll end up spending a lot of time in Downtown Bethlehem if you're looking for fun stuff to do. Coplay doesn't have a great food scene or anything.
ATL, I guess?
Greg
11:52
How much are Hunter Bishop's increasing strikeouts concerning teams?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:53
Somewhat, he's been beaten by breaking stuff beneath the zone a lot lately. That plus the previous two years of statistical struggle will make it tough for teams to buy in the way they have with Bleday.

3 walks in 26 innings for Nate Pearson. Improved command, or just a case of him being too good for his level?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:54
it's encouraging but could just be a product of shorter outings, age/level, that kind of stuff.

Hi Eric, thanks for the chat. The President made a comment about potentially rescinding a rule (that he put back in place, but alas) and allowing those with military commitments to defer their service to play pro sports. How would this affect Noah Song's draft stock and perceived value?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:54
He'd go from someone's longshot flier to a potential day 1 arm

11:54
Is Jorge Mateo a high end prospect again? Chances of a call-up this season?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:55
Nah, I think we'll just leave him in the 45/45+ area. Has been too much of a roller coaster his entire career to buy him as a top 100 type, even though the physical ability for that is obviously there. Glad he's hitting, though.

What's happening at AA Birmingham? Everyone's suddenly bad!
Eric A Longenhagen
11:57
I'm not sure that player dev situation is working out. Getz probably hasn't been running the shop long enough to be critically certain, but lots of their arms have gone backward the last few years. Driveline just published a study on player dev that had them last in value added.

Are you buying the rumors of the Sox taking Abrams at #3?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:58
I think he's in the mix, yeah.
Pols
11:58
Has Vaughn taken a half step back, or is he just not getting anything to drive?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:59
Has seen a ton of breaking stuff since the early season. Korey Lee, Cam Eden and those guys are okay, but this seems like a classic 'don't let that guy beat us' situation which is impacting Vaughn's performance.
Tazu

If Kirilloff moves to 1B, will he move down in the rankings?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:59
Yes
Jim
12:00
Does Cody Bolton have a chance for a significant mid season evaluation byump?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:01
Yep, was a great SoCal sleeper find who appears healthy after the shoulder stuff ended what looked like a 2018 breakout
Ryan
12:02
Any names connected to the Angels at this point? Is it likely they target high upside athletes again this year?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:03
Think the young prep athletes are in play, yeah. Kyren Paris, the two-sport kids, maybe a college arm if one of tough-to-pass value falls (but who's that guy? Thompson maybe?)
Sinjin
12:04
Was Luis Torrens not included on the SD Prospect List because of eligibility or value.  If the former where would he fall.
Eric A Longenhagen
12:04
He, Cordoba and Miguel Diaz have all lost rookie eligibility. Diaz is the only of the 3 who'd be in the 40 FV tier or above (Diaz would be a 40) and Cordoba would be an HM utility type
Baseball
12:04
tell me about the prospects
Eric A Longenhagen
12:05
they might be good or might not
Mike
12:05
I know domingo german is no longer a prospect, but how real is his performance this year?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:06
Stuff-wise this is real, he's just had a lot of injury issues throughout his career.
Derek
12:06
Have gotten a chance to see the international players the padres are likely to sign? What are your thoughts?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:06
I've seen a little of Reg Preciado who is a projectable, switch-hitting shortstop with avg feel/athleticism.

Really impressed early on with Edwards and Marcano.  Do you see them keeping this obp skill set as they progress ? It’s desperately needed in the Majors.    Also do you see Edwards moving to CF soon ?  Thank you
Eric A Longenhagen
12:07
No idea when X might move or if he will, I think both these guys have premium OBP skills
Nick

Is 2019 the year Gilbert Lara finally breaks out? I remember him being a big deal when he signed several years ago.
