Morning, everyone. Gonna let Szym finish his chat before I get going here. Fell free to pump questions into the queue and I'll get rolling when he's done.
1:39
Okay everyone, let's get rolling.
CJ
1:39
Tell me how to feel about Dylan Cease and his ridiculous stuff.
Eric A Longenhagen
1:40
I think you should feel excited but I caution you to let your guard down because the guy has a pretty lengthy injury history. Only allow yourself to be vulnerable if you can deal with a broken heart.

1:40
How do you like the possibility of Yohander Mendez helping out the Texas rotation as early as spring training next year?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:41
Non-zero chance, the stuff is certainly good enough, but I think it's more likely he starts next year in the minors.
Big Joe Mufferaw
1:41
If Otani was not a pitcher, would he be a top 100 prospect?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:41
No
Adam
1:41
With Walker Buehler's new and improved stuff does he make your top 100?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:42
Almost has to, right? Throwing harder than he did at Vanderbilt, showing a plus curveball and cutter/slider thing in the low-90s. It's nasty.

1:42
Thoughts on Cubs Trevor Clifton? Think he can be a solid 3 in a couple seasons?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:44
That's probably what the ceiling is, not the most likely outcome, but he's definitely a potential rotation piece. Probably more of a #4 for me because I'm not sure how much more command there's going to be.
Vic Romano
1:44
What are your thoughts on these OFs - Margot, Meadows, and Brinson? Which of them do you think will end up having the better career?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:46
Brinson has monster power and speed potential at the expense of swing and miss. Meadows is less explosive but will probably hit for power, have speed and make a bunch of contact, too. Margot is glove-first. Swing isn't geared for much power, though I think it's in the body if he/SD wants to try to unlock it. Might be risky to try that, though.

Diamondbacks most underrated prospect?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:46
Henry Castillo
varnson
1:46
Will you be providing a report on LAD De Leon?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:47
I can give you one now. Fastball low-90s this year, velo down a bit from last, can lack plane but has some movement. Changeup is plus, uses against both left and right-handed hitters, slider is average to above and plays above because he has plus command. He's good.

1:48
Can Tony Kemp be a quality utility player? What does he need to focus on improving?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:48
I think so. Think he just needs more time against big league pitching.
some guy
1:48
Who is your favorite LH relief prospect that doesn't get enough attention?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:49
Obviously there are more left-handed relief prospects than any normal person can remember off the top of their head, so with that in mind I'll say Steve Okert.
Adam
1:49
Preller's 2016 International class is getting a lot of hype, but are any members of his 2015 class beginning to make a name for themselves?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:50
Meh. Not especially. The big names from that group are prospects but guys like Henry Henry are solid arms to watch, not much more than that right now.
Win Remmerswaal
1:50
What do we have in Jeimer Candelario? That's a damn fine year in AAA after saucing it up in AA. What's his future?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:50
Gotta find a position for him but he can really hit.
Mark Attanasio
1:50
I'm wondering if you could share a scouting report on Ryan Cordell, the PTBNL in the Brewers-Rangers trade. Our in-house version of KATOH says Cordell is great, but I want to know what an independent scout thinks. Thank you!
Eric A Longenhagen
1:51
Good athlete, some positional versatility there, has some power but lots of swing and miss. Utility type for me.
Adam
1:52
Has Franchy Cordero's move to CF made him a legitimate prospect in the Padres system?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:52
Has always been "legit" but that he can play a little bit of CF helps things for sure.
Adam
1:52
Is Jaren Kendell the odds on favorite to go #1 in the 2017 draft as of today?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:53
I think so, yes.
Todd Boss
1:53
Lucas Giolito question; lost of angst in Nats-land over his diminished velocity and lack of command this year. Is it all related to mechanical issues (as he recently admitted)? Is he a victim of hype and actually isn't as good as he purportedly was supposed to be?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:53
More a victim of impatience, as are most all prospects.
Boof Bonser
1:53
Quick rundown on Matt Olson & Renato Nunez, both called up today by Oakland?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:55
Power before hit from both of them but not so much power that I don't care if they're 30/40 hitters. Both potential average regulars for me.
Jack
1:55
Favorite middle infield prospect in 2017 draft?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:55
Favorite ? Best. With that in mind, Trevor Hauver. At least among high schoolers.
Jake
1:56
Do you feel(As far as talent is concerned)that Adrian Morejon could handle a full season level of Minor League Baseball?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:57
Reports from Int'l scouts kind of implied that, if anyone could come right over and do it, it's a guy like this. But I didn't explicitly ask anyone that question. He's just very advanced.
