Yeah that promotion was a surprise. Sierra can really play CF but I can't see him doing much with the bat right now. And other than relievers and Rule 5 guys I can't think of a prospect who has made this kind of jump off the to of my head.

Does Khalil Lee's ability to draw walks at a crazy rate make you feel any better about his swing and miss problems? The power seems real and he has tools, but obviously k-rate is the number to watch with him right now.
Eric A Longenhagen
12:50
It does, he has a great idea of the zone.

12:50
Have you seen Mike Shawaryn? He was very good at Maryland then stumbled a bit. His numbers now look strong.
Eric A Longenhagen
12:51
I have. Stuff is a bit better than it was when things unraveled at Maryland. Low-90s, chance for a viable slider and change. The low slot has some remaining skeptical, so keep an eye on his splits. I think he has a shot to be a back end starter.

Any pitchers flying up your top 100?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:55
Probably have to consider some of the Phillies young arms at this point. Tyler Mahle is throwing a bit harder so he might be a on the list now. Jack Flaherty also making an argument for mid-season inclusion.
George Green
12:55
You buying Kyle Tucker's increase in power? More fly balls, higher K rate- it looks like he's changed his approach just from looking at the numbers
Eric A Longenhagen
12:56
He has the frame to add power. Don't have reports on whether or not the raw has ticked up but even if what you're seeing now isn't a true improvement I anticipate, eventually, there will be some.

How has the early season performance of Guerrero, Bichette, and Alford changed your opinion of their long term outlook?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:57
Vlad and Alford, not really. I've always liked both of them. Bichette I've been skeptical about but early reports from scouts are that he just has incredible feel to hit, noisy swing be damned.

I will be on the road this summer (From Montreal to Florida). Best prospect to watch in Pennsylvania or Virginia ?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:59
I'd stop at Triple-A Lehigh Valley (eat in Bethlehem, not Allentown) and at Wilmington.

There are dozens of 89-93, makings of a breaking ball H.S. RHP every year. What is the best single differentiator to look for? Changeup? Body type? Smoothness?
Eric A Longenhagen

Physical projection and breaking ball feel

Do you like Sandro Fabian? Certain other sources of repute seem to be quite high on him
Eric A Longenhagen
1:01
I'm a Sandro Fabian hipster

In a fantasy baseball league with prospects. Love high upside players. Thoughts on Walker Buehlers start this year? Higher upside between Buehler and Duplantier
Eric A Longenhagen
1:02
Spoke with someone who saw Buehler last week before he was promoted. sat 96-99, hammer curveball. Buehler has more upside.

What's the lowest grade you've ever assigned to a player? Which player and what skill?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:03
I put 20s on runners on a daily basis.

Do scouts differentiate between fastball command and offspeed command? Any examples of prospects who may have one but not the other?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:05
If there's a huge difference (like there can be for a pitcher like Lance McCullers) then yes but it's not something you see on every report. Some orgs grade fastball command as its own thing.

What do you make of Ronald Acuna's promotion to AA? Seems aggressive given his 31.7 K% and 6.3 BB% in limited action at A+.
Eric A Longenhagen
1:07
Yeah but the other aggressive assignments Atlanta has doled out have gone pretty well so, maybe let's just wait and see what happens. Acuna has been red hot, like .333/.380 over the last couple of weeks I think?

I've seen lots of talk about Hunter Greene's secondary pitches lately. Are they any better or worse than those of other recent prep RHP like Kolek & Pint?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:08
Both Kolek and Pint had better primary breaking balls than Greene does but they can't touch Greene's command projection.

Hey Eric. Question trade question. 14tm5x5. My Calhoun + Yonder for his Cargo + TShaw (or maybe KKier/ Moreland/ Capps)? Position neutral. Love Yonder, but it's Cargo. Thoughts?
Eric A Longenhagen

This is all greek to me.

Your choice only (not necessarily industry consensus): do you take Wright or McKay if you want a college pitcher?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:10
I've been stewing over this in my quietest moments for the last three days. I still don't know. I love McKay's command, think Wright has better stuff.

Walker Buehler already got bumped up a level, do we see him this season, and is he bullpen arm if that happens?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:10
I think both yes.

The draft is one month away. What are teams doing right now to prepare? Are they still compiling information, or are they mostly finished with that stage?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:11
Cross checkers are out with area scouts tightening up evaluations, medical info is being gathered in prep for org meetings.

Is Jesus Sanchez going to be the biggest pop-up on mid-season prospect lists?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:12
Probably on the short list of guys who move way up. He was on my top 100 honorable mentions but might be up around 50 on mid season lists.
