Like literally I expect to do this with Moncada next year.

I know I shouldn't worry over Dom Smith with just 40 AB's but I'm worried. Is that dumb?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:56
SEE?
Don't sweat it, Wright. You're like most baseball fans.

Do you have any info on Pirates 17-yo Michell Miliano?
Eric A Longenhagen
1:57
Padres, you mean, and yeah I saw him last week. 88-91 for the most part, curveball feel. Still very green and yes, still just 17.

No love for Tanner Scott on your mid season Oriole list? Other evaluations seem to rank him higher.
Eric A Longenhagen
1:59
Meh. He throws really hard but has poor command and I don't know if that slider will miss bats. He's a prospect, but I'd rather have the guys who have a shot to start.

Can we get your thoughts on Miguel Aparicio in the Rangers organization? Thanks
Eric A Longenhagen
2:00
Advanced bat and feel for CF. Physical tools aren't superlative so the ceiling is limited but he's a very good prospect

Should Yandy Diaz be in the major leagues? He's wrecking AAA, and Steamer absolutely loves him. Has your opinion of him changed at all in the past year?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:01
I think Yandy could be a solid big league utility guy right now, yes. That's also what I think his long term role will be.

Who's this guy Sherfy, ARI RP with the insane MiLB K%? Lockdown reliever or just another quad A pitcher?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:01
Mid-90s with a plus slider, just hasn't been able to stay healthy.
Chris
2:02
Why after the year that Ron Acuna has had is he not higher in your prospect rankings?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:03
Because I like 4 guys in the minors (5 on the entire planet) more than him?
Nate
2:03
Do you see Giolito getting back to what he was when he was a top 5 prospect? I know command/control is his biggest issue, is there any hope he can be a 2-3 BB/9 pitcher?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:04
More low-to-mid 90s, will flash that plus curveball, a hard above average slider and above average changeup but will struggling with command. I think he'll get there and be an above average big league starter eventually.

Donnie Dewees.  Likelihood he is a CF and will he be at least a second division regular?  Many thanks.
Eric A Longenhagen
2:04
Some scouts think the arm limits him to LF-only.

All 2nd generation IF of Kacy Clemons and 1b, Cavan Biggo 2b, Bo Bichette SS and Vlad Jr at 3b has to happen just 1 time at some point... right? Even if it's just Spring Training.
Eric A Longenhagen
2:06
Oh I truly hope so.

What is your take on the trend of teams making commitments to IFAs that are younger and younger?  Badler says teams are locking-up 14 year olds?  That can't be good, right?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:08
It gives me the creeps. If there were a clear solution to this kind of stuff that didn't involve totally screwing the players over with a draft, I'd love to see it implemented. I have no idea what that might be.

Any surprises so far from the 2017 Draft Class, positive or negative?
Eric A Longenhagen

Have I mentioned Wyatt Mills in the chat yet?

So the Red Sox basically emptied the farm to put this team together and this core should be competing for the next 3 years. Are they capable of restocking the farm system so that they don't crater when this team starts breaking up? What do they need to do to be successful in this regard?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:12
Obviously most of the high-end talent atop the system has either graduated, is going to shortly (Devers) or been traded but there's still some star potential in Groome and Flores, a host of interesting young Latin American players and several draftees who have a chance to play regular big league roles (Brannen, Ockimey, Chatham, a bunch of pitchers who coul dbe 4/5 starters) so I think they're in okay shape and their ability to dip into the international pool annually will help them get high end talent they probably won't get in the draft as they'll be picking later.

What is one to make of Danny Jansen (Blue Jay prospect)? He was not particularly highly regarded as far as prospects go, but has hit a ton on all three stops this year.
Eric A Longenhagen
He's wearing glasses now. Glasses. Seriously.

2:16
How surprised are you that Gohara has risen as fast as he has this year?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:16
Not terribly, elite fastball velo for a lefty starter, doesn't miss in bad spots with that slider. He's very good.

What type of power upside does Willy Adames have?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:17
18--22 annual homers, maybe a tick more
Iron Mike

Hey Eric, don't think is your area specifically, but I'll ask anyway: do you have any insight on why the Orioles don't develop pitching well? They've had a bunch of guys (Arrieta, Tillman, Gausman, Bundy, Sedlock, etc.). Hard to blame them for Harvey, but what gives?
Eric A Longenhagen
2:18
I agree it seems to be an issue but I have no idea why. Harvey has been 93-96 lately, fwiw.
Scott
2:19
You said reviews on Maitan have been mixed. Can you add anymore? Mixed as in bad or mixed as in good and bad? He's obviously not tearing it up in rookie league.
Eric A Longenhagen
2:19
Scouts are concerned how quickly his body has matured.
