I'm a Braves fan who has been extremely skeptical of Austin Riley being the starting 3B at any point. I'm starting to come around a little bit. What do you expect his batting average to be? Is he a .250-260 guy or is there more in there?

Every year there seems to be a prospect or two who just "figures it out" and blows up on the scene. Kind of like Hoskins not being a top tier guy through most of his years in the minors. Who could be some this year that are one adjustment away from All-Stardom.

What do you see differently mechanically with Corey Ray? Personally I’m gonna need to see him slump a bit and break out because that’s where he’s had trouble in the past. He’s starting to excite me though.

Timing just looked better this spring but I didn't notice anything overhauled mechanically, just a better rhythm. Still swung through stuff in the zone.

Do you consider the current J-2 Draft a success? If NCAA overhauls their basketball recruiting process, should they model after baseball?

I was thinking about what the NBA might do to change things since it seems they want to and I do think baseball's model has the best combination of benefits for labor (since the kids ready coming out of HS can get paid right away) and for NCAA basketball which gets kids for 3 years if they aren't.

In your preseason write-up, you said Yordan Alvarez could move his way up the Astros list this summer.  He was already at #3, behind Whitley and Tucker.  Seems like you see a high ceiling.  Is his performance so far this year as a 20-year-old in AA justifying that view?

Perhaps. Part of the recent approach was based on the number of selections ATL had and where they fell in the draft, so because that's different this year (only two top 50 picks) I expect the strategy to be different regardless of who's running it

Man, Jordan Hicks looks terrible. Nobody is swinging and missing at his stuff, and he's got the lowest O-Swing% of all RP with at least 10 IP. His control is awful. He shouldn't be anywhere near the majors, right?
