Getting Tai Peete and Jonny Farmelo to SEattle
Chase
9:36
Is Tai Peete to the Rays at 31 still a thing felt like that was a consensus thing in a lot of mocks.
Eric A Longenhagen
9:36
pocket picked
OsOptomist
9:36
I mean they did boo a kid getting drafted
Eric A Longenhagen
9:36
yeah that's not great
9:37
but hey I'm from Philly so...it's fine
Danny

Sorry if someone asked this above, but Kiley had a fun article  about this being a good year for a team to blow through the bonus pools and sign multiple high level prep guys, even suggesting the Yankees as the team to do it. Any rumblings of them actually doing this and if they did, would we not hear about it until day 3 after drafting a couple of their build-a-pitchers?
Eric A Longenhagen
9:38
This is part of why it's a tough thing to execute, you have to keep it a secret, except you kinda cant because the agents have to know to some degree that you're doing it
Dipoto
9:39
How is Seattle affording three prep first-rounders?
Eric A Longenhagen
9:39
Dunno that any of them are over slot, and if they are they could cut with someone later. look at Reds draft last year
9:46
okay sorry, i had to fight with the Cespedes BBQ guys about whether i get credit for the farmelo mock pick or not
okay, get those questions in because i'm gonna have to write here soon
9:47
Think Adrian Santana to TB and then Houck to Mets
Drew
9:49
Is Peete a reach? By how much?
Eric A Longenhagen
9:49
Nah, huge power

Does Gelof last until the A's at 39?
Eric A Longenhagen
9:52
I think so, that'd be cute, right?

9:52
Morales to Marlins?
Eric A Longenhagen
9:52
That's what I'm hearing, si.
but long way to go for that one
Byron Denniston
9:52
Thanks for doing this btw!
Eric A Longenhagen
9:52
You're welcome. Are people betting in real time? That'd be hilarious to me.
Caleb
9:53
Could Matthews have been there for Houston at 61? Seems like a reach...
Eric A Longenhagen
9:53
Honestly I'm hearing teams in the comp round were thirsty for him, wanted him BAD
I have to revisit his report

9:53
Why did you rate Dylan Crews as "high risk?"
Eric A Longenhagen
9:53
Risk just means "variance" but I can't fit that in a column header
Byron Denniston
9:55
Can it be arranged for Thomas White to last to pick 68?
Eric A Longenhagen
9:55
Yeah if you've got the dough. Same as Porter last year, number has gotta be 3 mil+
Other guest
9:56
Is the variance skewed up or down relative to his FV?
Eric A Longenhagen
9:57
Up, usually. 60 FV most of them are gonna be high variance because the ceiling is so big
the upside is variance too
Josh Knoth here to Milwaukee
9:58
Gonna woj two more times then east and write
