That's slightly too excited.

Why is Jordan Walker playing over Dylan Carlson? There's a huge gap on projected production, and Walker had a good-not-great spring.
Alex Eisert
1:14
I'm wondering that too, since I paid $10 for Dylan Carlson in one of the FG staff Ottoneu leagues
1:15
I like Carlson, he's still young and had a mini plate-discipline breakout last year. Maybe the Cards' brass is just buying into the hype.
AvatarJay Jaffe
1:15
Carlson hasn't hit righties very well during his career (91 wRC+) and righty Alex Manoah is on the mound. Might as well get a look at Walker, whom we have as one of the best prospects in the game

Most exciting "new face in a new place" today? My vote would be for DeGrom, but mostly just because watching him pitch (for any team) is just mesmerizing
AvatarDan Szymborski
1:14
Turner if I can't say deGrom
AvatarDan Szymborski

I suspect Cards are trying to capture lightning in Walker. Those ZiPS upside projections are pretty damn good

More likely to happen....Seiya wins NL MVP or Ohtani gets traded to the Cubs?

Davy, let's just say I'm taking advantage of the fact that the boss is coming in late today

Dan can you show us Walker's percentile projections?

@alex @rob ohhhhh noo, no bias at all.. I hate east and west both equally

I have crab cakes and Busch Light...I can't stomach Natty Bo.
AvatarDan Szymborski

I just had four crabcakes from Jimmy's down on Holabird here this week, but they're already gone.

Any thought on seeing some beyond normal rebounds from top prospects who "graduated" during the pandemic era and haven't come out of the gate killing it?
Kellenic comes to mind, Andrew Vaughn reaching his potential, Jung?
AvatarDan Szymborski
1:16
I had Vaughn in my breakout piece!

If you were the Cardinals what would you do with all their outfield depth?
AvatarDan Szymborski
1:17
Use it in baseball games, ideally.

Tossup: Who crawls out of the swamp first, Detroit or KC? And what year?
AvatarDan Szymborski
1:17
Detroit. 2025 or 2026.
Alex Eisert
1:17
I would say KC and 2026. I feel like Det had to reset their  rebuild after the Baez/Eduardo Rodriguez debacles.

If Bellinger rebounds to above average, does he resign with the Cubs or bolt for mucho money?
Davy Andrews
1:19
I think having success there would obviously predispose him to be more receptive, but elsewhere is way more likely.

Hot dog and brat bar is open for business at my house - do I even put the ketchup out since it's adults only in the house today?

Saw some rumors Yankees are trying to trade for a picther? Would Ari have to eat all of Bumgarner's contract to get any kind of prospect in return?
AvatarJay Jaffe
1:19
first, the move for a pitcher that Boone mentioned is supposedly for a free agent pitcher, and quite possibly a reliever. Second, Bumgarner... man, I can't see him being more appealing than the internal options given how bad he's been with the D-backs.
1:20
1.4 WAR, 4.98 ERA, 5.05 FIP over his last 65 starts.

Does Cole have the best FB in MLB?
Alex Eisert
1:18
It's a good one. But did you know Trevor May's four-seamer has the best whiff rate in the majors over the past four years??
Orioles2024
1:19
So much for Cole's leadoff walk...I hate the Yankees.

When does G-Rod come up for the Orioles since he didn't make the roster out of spring?
Alex Eisert
1:20
I see two potential scenarios. 1: the Orioles are competitive and they call him up earlier than expected as a playoff boost. 2: they keep him in the minors as long as possible to keep him ROY eligible for next year so they can get the bonuses that would come with that
1:21
It's the same thing they did with Gunnar last year/this year. But they probably figure he's their shot at the ROY bonuses for this season.

Let's just say I'm taking advantage of half of the office, including my boss, the site director, and the HR lady, all being out for spring break this week.
1:20
Andrew, Greg, or Mo Vaughn?
Davy Andrews

Mo.
