my favorite baseball sound is the JJ Putz guitar shredding right when he was in his windup

Speaking of baseball sounds... did that Miami monstrosity make noise when the Marlins hit a HR back in the day?  I can only imagine what sound effects would've been dreamt up to pair with that debacle.

Wow.

they had some sounds
usually a song, I think they had three or four

Another no-balls-out-of-the-infield rally or the Guardians against Skubal. Unreal.

I don't understand how they keep scoring like this
AvatarDan Szymborski

I always thought the Marlins shoudl have had some creepy circus minor key waltz for the homers

Had that bunt worked, Tigers fans would be heading for liquor cabinets en masse.

Infield choppers against Skubal are the new ‘Jon Lester can’t throw to 1B’

someone help me understand the logic behind bunting there

Doing the next trivia OOTP 26 key after fifth

four out of five runs the Guardians have scored this year against Skubal have come in innings where the ball hasn't even reached the second base bag, let alone the outfield grass

Hey, late to the chat--what's the projections' logic behind SEA twice as likely to win WS than TOR? Gut-wise it feels OK to me but that 's a bigger gap than I'd expect from projections
AvatarDan Szymborski
2:20
The projections were just kinda meh on Blue Jays, though ZiPS a bit higher than Steamer
Steamer liked Seattle mor than ZiPS IIRC
Natitude Adjuster
2:22
You have to have ZiPS "open"?  I thought it was some kind of scary cybernetic part of you...

Seattle gets to play DET/CLE, while Toronto has to play NYY/BOS. Big gap in opponent quality too, no?
AvatarDan Szymborski

yup

From a fan enjoyment standpoint watching Cleveland struggle against heaven and earth to push one run across over the course of like 6 hitters and 20 minutes is a delightful experience. When Stanton hits a solo HR 118 mph tonight against Crochet and does all the work Cleveland just did in less than 3 seconds I’m going to cackle.

Any insight on why Meadows leads-off
AvatarDavid Laurila

No insight, but it seems Carpenter would make more sense.

Big Christmas at a disadvantage because he struggles hitting infield singles
AvatarDan Szymborski

If he gets sent to the minors is it part of the war on christmas?

Better chance of making a run assuming they advance: Cleveland or Detroit?
AvatarDan Szymborski
2:26
I still think detroit.
2:28
OK, next OOTP 26 key question in 30 seconds
AvatarDavid Laurila

Worth noting that Skubal has thrown 100 or more pitches in a game just three times this season, with a high of 105. He told me in August that it is difficult to throw a large number of pitches when you're out there dealing at 97-100 mph.

How many pitches do we think Skubal will go today?
AvatarDavid Laurila

Maybe 110?

A speedy Royals outfielder and member of the Hall of Very Good never hit more than 10 home runs in a season, holds a significant post-deadball career home run record. Who is the outfielder and what post-deadball career home run record does he hold?
