Hi everybody! Let's do this.
Sorry I'm late.

Is there any way to access old Baseruns data (2002-2014)? I've been asking Fangraphs in as many ways as possible, but I haven't been able to find that data. I'm looking for it for a school project, and any help would be appreciated. Thanks Paul!
Paul Swydan
9:04
I have asked too! To no avail yet, but we'll get it eventually.
Jeff Zimmerman
9:04
OK

I got offered Felix/Starlin Castro/Cody Allen for Springer/Teheran in an deep OBP league. Both my pitching and my shortstop situation are trash, but my OF is deep. Worth taking?
Jeff Zimmerman
9:04
Seems like your team will be better, so take it
Paul Swydan
9:05
For sure. I don't even like Teheran.
JASON
9:05
Should the Twins try Sano back at 3B? Sure, he might not be any good there, but he likely won't be good anywhere. And, it gets Arcia's bat in the lineup more often.
Paul Swydan
9:05
I certainly think so, but no one asked me.
9:06
And you'd think he'd be better at the position he grew up playing than one he started playing six months ago.
Jeff Zimmerman
9:06
I think not. The Twins need him to be serviceable somewhere on the diamond and 3B is not the location.

Before the year started, what kind of odds could I have gotten that the Phillies rotation at this point in the season would have the most WAR of any rotation in the majors?
Paul Swydan
9:07
Very, very good odds. But as I noted back in February, this was never as bad a team as it seemed.
Jeff Zimmerman
9:07
500-1, not sure. They weren't going to be horrible by any means. I could see the Phillies contending in '18

Which matchup would you rather watch: Kershaw versus Bumgarner, or Thor versus Velasquez?
Paul Swydan
9:08
Probably Kershaw vs. Bumgarner, no offense to Syndergaard and Velsasquez.
Jeff Zimmerman
9:08
Thor vs Vel, Bum will just take Kershaw deep twice and win
Mark
9:08
Is Maeda for real? What do you see coming from him the rest of the season? Thanks.
Paul Swydan
9:09
He's good. He's not this good. Hitters will adjust. But it's definitely been nice to see.
Jeff Zimmerman
9:09
He's OK, seems like a number 3 starter

What side ya on: Abreu for Dee Gordon & Story
Jeff Zimmerman
9:10
Gordon and Story. I like Gordon more than Abreau straight up
Paul Swydan
9:10
Damn, that's a good question. Gordon and Story might get the nod, just on positional scarcity.
9:11
I think Jeff is right, it does come down to how valuable Gordon is in your league, because I'm still not sold on Story.

i asked about Parks adjustment to MLB pitching in Dans Monday chat. Since then he has hit two impressive homers. From a fantasy prospective, which 1B do you see him comparing to? I've read Chris Carter as a potential fit. What do you guys think, and what do you see parks potential end stat line being?
Paul Swydan
9:11
I expect him to be better than Carter. I don't have an overall component comp, but I expect him to be in that Napoli/Belt tier. Not elite, but *can* be elite at times.
Jeff Zimmerman
9:12
Duda, but not sure if Park will get the walks
mitch_jackson
9:12
Is there a legitimate chance for Nolan Arenado to be the third best position player this year?
Paul Swydan
9:13
If he can keep the walk rate up, he'll have a chance. But I'll say no, I don't see him being that good.
Jeff Zimmerman
9:13
A chance, 2% maybe.
Banana
9:14
How fast would a pitch need to be thrown to be literally unhittable?
Paul Swydan
9:14
That's a FANTASTIC question. We should do a post on contact % by velocity.
Probably something like 103.
Jeff Zimmerman
9:15
115 is my guess. Great video of a top Japanese player trying to hit at some insane velocity is worth a laugh
Karan
9:15
Really worried about the Yankees offense and SP. Should they consider trading from their relief corp for bats and SP once Chapman comes back?
Paul Swydan
9:16
No, they'll be OK. It's only a couple of weeks. Deep breath.
Jeff Zimmerman
9:16
No, they aren't that bad, just a slow start
