As a Braves fan, I know it’s sacrilege to say this, but I wouldn’t be all that bummed to see Freddie leave. As good as he is, I don’t really think who he’ll be for the next 5 years is irreplaceable? Am I off base here?

Re: Freeman. No real sign of decline, and at his age you probably won't have to sign him for too long. 4 years might do it. His talent doesn't grow on trees and the Braves are trying to win now.

Freeman's heading into his age 33 season. He seems like way too big a name to settle for just 4 years, but maybe that could actually get it done. I'd still bet on 5-6 though.
