It's fun to see pitchers hit sometimes, but I don't really care too much.

Of all the experiments in the minors, this would be my strong bet to get to the big leagues first. It makes a huge different.

Universal DH with a quite solid lead.

That was Webb's best inning so far.

It absolutely is. I think it's a massive part of his success this year. The physical toll of catching is unreal and under-appreciated.

Game is being broadcast on ESPN here in New Zealand - we get the Australian versions of ESPN 1 and 2 here, full of targeted Aussie stuff. Typical Yanks thinking Aussie and NZ are the same. I haven't met the Flight guys - although Bret McKenzie plays in a band called the Black Seeds and they rock - great live.

I tthink it's an honest effort. It's just that none MLB-quality hitters against MLB-quality pitchers is going to look really awful

As a hitter, I always HATED it when the pitcher was rushing me. Pretty sure this is a thing even though I quit after high school. "Don't rush me! I've made that mistake before" (taylor dayne)

I saw Marcus Stroman go oppo a few years back in interleague play and it was legitimately dope, AL pitcher going yard. Electrifying. But man the overwhelming majority of the time it is grim watching dudes fail to bunt and flail away uselessly.
