I do think it isn't great for baseball. There are other, better options to increase scoring that don't encourage even more strikeouts, like making the strike zone smaller.

It won't be an extension anymore as the season will be over, but probably more likely to sign with Washington as the Nationals don't want to end on a bad note and then lose their best position player.

I think winner take all games are great, though I wouldn't be opposed to a day night doubleheader where if the visiting team wins the first game, they make it, but if the home team wins the first game, they play a second to advance. It would provide some incentive for the top wild card spot and provide more of an advantage to division winners.
