But he tones it way down with runners on, and I just don't see an ump calling him out for an illegal pitch without a solid reason why
Eric A Longenhagen

The Schwartz tells me the script for the Spaceballs sequel is being written
Ben Clemens
11:08
Wait really?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:09
I think so. Story next staff call.
Ben Clemens
11:09
Amazing
I was down on the remaking of movies I liked when I was younger until I saw Super Troopers 2
Now I'm back in

Super troopers 2 is good?!?
Ben Clemens
11:10
I liked it quite a bit
It didn't try to be anything other than an extension of the first one
11:11
And I didn't really want anything more than that

Tim Kurkijan might be my favorite baseball analyst ever, simply because he has such genuine and boundless enthusiasm for the game, in addition to being a limitless font of fascinating trivia.  Who is your favorite analyst?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:11
Hershiser
Ben Clemens
11:11
Wonderful question

I enjoy David Cone with the Yankees
Ben Clemens
11:11
I actually like Keith Hernandez quite a bit, though not so much for the baseball analysis
AvatarJay Jaffe
11:12
Hershiser has grown on me too
Ben Clemens
11:12
I don't think he would work at a national level but I've liked Francoeur with the Braves

KEITH HERNANDEZ?!
Ben Clemens
11:13
I like someone who talks about cats instead of bothering to watch the Mets sometimes

On NPR today there was a piece saying the reason the small sample of 60 games was unrepresentative was because there will be less games against the same pitchers (ie the games aren't representative because there just aren't enough games with the same starting lineups). Is that true? I've never heard it framed that way
Ben Clemens
11:13
In a word: no
11:14
Oh!
Bill Walton is the best baseball analyst
AvatarJay Jaffe
11:14
lol
Ben Clemens
11:14
The Walton/Benetti booth in Anaheim last year was the best baseball broadcast I've ever heard
AvatarJay Jaffe
11:15
i am drawing blanks in thinking of others I like, it's been so long
Car Talk Fan
11:15
That's what I figured! It was so odd to hear
Ben Clemens
11:15
Yeah. Very weird way of explaining it, and misleading
11:16
A 97-game season where each team played the other 29 3 times would be more representative than a 60-game season despite actual 0 repeated matchups
Yikes, 87*
