But I like having lots of alternates and I wish more teams would do interesting alternates
The A's shouldn't get to participate in revenue sharing if they don't play at least 10 home games a year in the gold.

+1 for Red Sox regular home jerseys over tonight's.

I like the colorful home jerseys - Astros orange tops are also very nice.
AvatarDan Szymborski
8:14
Yeah, regular is better. But I don't hate these
kyle
8:14
Astros old red tops were bad though
AvatarJay Jaffe
8:14
Yikes I had forgotten those
AvatarDan Szymborski
8:16
I like the Diamondbacks rust ones, but they just don't work for the Astros

I don't miss the red jerseys but I miss the CF hill
AvatarDan Szymborski

It was a real logistics nightmare
8:17
everyone on the field pretty much hated it

It would have been fun if the Astros wore 2005 throwbacks against the White Sox
AvatarDan Szymborski
8:17
ESPECIALLY if...
AvatarJay Jaffe
8:17
throwbacks for a rematch series should have been mandatory
AvatarDan Szymborski
8:17
Solid stab by Devers there
AvatarJay Jaffe
8:17
but then who knows how apeshit Chris Sale would have gone with scissors
8:18
yeah, nice play by Devers, whose fielding numbers were... not good
AvatarJay Jaffe

-13 DRS, -5.5 UZR, -13 OAA. YIKES
Jeremy

How unusual is E Rod pitching off the right side of the rubber as a lefty?
AvatarDan Szymborski
8:18
It's certainly not the norm
the orthodox one is to try to dominate the platoon matchups with the placement

Jay, you tweeted, so now i'm here.

welcome to the party!

It's impossible to find an officially licensed JR Richard jersey which has always bothered me
AvatarJay Jaffe
8:19
I believe retailers can only sell officially licensed mersh with the names of current players
8:20
had the same problem coming up with a Fernando Valenzuela jersey but I found a dodgy enough place to do it
mind you this was about 18 years ago
AvatarDan Szymborski

I wonder if in Rodriguez's case, he picked up the habit as a kid? He used to be right-handed growing up

If BOS wins the WS this year, are they the luckiest American sports team of the millennium?
AvatarDan Szymborski
8:21
The luckiest team is whoever faces the Twins
Greg

Jay: your Pilots jersey is gorgeous.
AvatarJay Jaffe

thank you!

I've only got that, the Fernando, and an El Paso Chihuahuas one from the time I got to throw out a first pitch in connection with The Cooperstown Casebook (I've had a recurring spot on ESPN El Paso for over a decade now). Oh and a David Cone navy batting practice Yankees jersey .That's my entire collection, and none of it gets worn very often.

That Devers play was a reminder that even mediocre major league defenders are incredible.
AvatarDan Szymborski
8:21
That's part of the reason fans tend to overrate their home team defensively
Crappy defensive players still make some awesome plays from time to time
8:22
Especially when you have no frame of reference.
