TLDR: The main finding of this study is that there was no significant difference in the pitcher’s outcome when the shadow was and was not in play during the plate
appearance. As opposed to the general assumption of how shadows affect the outcome of plate appearances the results indicate that shadows do not affect the outcome of plate appearances
