Who's one player you were off on in a full season but are now targeting in the abbreviated season?
Jeff Zimmerman
3:01
It's more to do with the DH, but Braun
I thought I might like RP more but the market jumped on them.
Chris
3:02
Are you grabbing treinen or someone else as a speculative add?
Jeff Zimmerman
3:03
No speculation but more of handcuff for my closer. If I get Diaz, I might also add Lugo.
Over the past 6 seasons, on average 5 closers have lost their jobs in the first two months
3:04
With little turnover, handcuffs will be needed.

I’m thinking about drafting both Danny Jansen and Reese McGuire in my 10 team league, am I on to something here or am I really overthinking things?
Jeff Zimmerman
3:05
Way over thinking in a ten team. With closers moving up, I've seen catchers (who won't need as much rest) drop. Get a couple of good ones.

Eno very high on Urias and Maeda due to Price opting out and AL Central  favorable schedule, who do you see having bigger impact?
Jeff Zimmerman
3:06
The schedule is that favorable.
3:07
Urias's role needs to be known. If starting, he'll get almost no Wins.
Madea is fine to add. His value jumps more because of the DH in the NL than anything involving the schedule.

Better 2020 - Austin Riley or Sam Hillard?
Jeff Zimmerman
3:09
Right now, Riley based off playing time. More chances. I like Hillard but I can't trust the Rockies to do anything smart.

Should Bobby Bradley be owned in any format?
Jeff Zimmerman
3:09
No, not yet.

Hi Jeff.  Willie Calhoun is a free agent in my 12-team mixed league, with OBP instead of AVG.  His statcast numbers are meh, and he doesn't walk much.  Basically, he hits a lot of medium-hard fly balls, which worked well at Texas's old launching pad but may work less well indoors.  Am I crazy for leaving him on the waiver wire?  My weakest hitters are probably Ryan Braun and Brian Anderson, both of whom will likely have a better OBP and hit almost as many homers as Calhoun (and maybe chip in a few steals).  Thanks in advance for your advice!
Jeff Zimmerman

I'd take him over Anderson and here is why: https://rotofanatic.com/my-method-for-evaluating-hitters/

How accurate do you think projections will be at projecting SP & RP innings pitched? In a quick look, it seems like players were taken proportionally down. Do you expect RP to get a significant higher % composition of IP? If so, how much?
Jeff Zimmerman
3:13
I think the RP% will go up but not sure the %.
3:14
It could be quite a bit with starters going 1 or 2 innings fewer than before
11% would be for 1 IP, 22% if 2 IP.

3:14
what do you think the biggest edge will be in shallow home leagues this year? keeping up to do date with mining the news and targeting players that start out throwing 5ish innings?
Jeff Zimmerman
3:15
Targeting AL pitchers. Projections now have Morton and Paddack even. Greinke and Kershaw are even
3:16
Values have changed but the market hasn't and probably wont'

3:16
what players with wide outcome ranges will you be targeting in a short sample?
Jeff Zimmerman
3:17
From some work, I might target ERA or AVG variation guys. These stats take longer to stabilize. The ERA guys are basically HR pitchers (e.g. Boyd)

3:17
What divisions/teams are you attacking based on the schedule? I saw AL East hitters took a minor hit
Jeff Zimmerman
3:18
In the FG pipeline is an article, and I like the East and Central hitters.
3:19
I think I noticed AL East hitters moving down but I think it's all AL hitters losing a % of stats with the addition of the DH

15 team 5x5 dynasty league with an auction draft. Best available pool of players for auction are B+ players. In a 60 game schedule, are dollars better spent on hitters or pitchers?
Jeff Zimmerman
3:20
Both. I like get a few SP anchors (Verlander, Morton, Greinke) and then pound hitting. Closers could be a mess and you might want to nominate them right away to gauge the market.

I'm struggling with how to value guys like Gore, Pearson, etc.  When will they be up?  Even if they get called up early, are we going to see a bunch of 3-4 inning starts?  Kind of just feels like a guessing game (even more so than normal with prospects).
Jeff Zimmerman
3:23
I'm considering them reserve picks and willing to move on if necessary.

Which generally regarded top 100 player opting out of the 2020 is the most replaceable? And least replaceable (excluding Mike Trout)?
Jeff Zimmerman
3:23
Any closer
But the bidding with be insane.

I know the A's have said AJ Puk will be a ML starter this year, but he hasn't really been on a starter's schedule for over two years.  What can we realistically expect from him in that role this year in terms of innings?
