Hey folks, I got caught up twittering for a second there!
Let's get started. As always, thanks for joining. We'll see if I can continue my streak of answering every Front Office chat question.

In a keep forever points league, would you trade M Betts for S Bieber?
Brad Johnson
12:04
Hard no.
12:05
Even setting aside Bieber's injury last season and his missing velocity, Betts is still worth a good 10-20% more depending on league depth.
With those concerns, I think this offer is about half a Bieber short of fair.
12:06
(i.e. Betts for 1.5xBieber)

In a league where you MUST start four pitchers every week (but no more than five), I have Luis Castillo, Blake Snell, and Mike Clevinger all on the IL...with SP at such a premium, most rising minor leaguers and even horrible 6th-7th starter types are already rostered. Any DEEP sleepers who might earn a mid-season callup but  (until now!) are not on anyone's radar yet? Thank you!
Brad Johnson
12:06
I honestly don't have any really big names queued up, but gimme a second to chew on this.
D.L. Hall is incredible but might not throw 5 IP
12:07
Ditto Grayson Rodriguez. Kyle Bradish probably will make normal starts, but I'm edgy about using him in fantasy in that division.
Ryne Nelson seems to be quickly ascending.
12:09
I really hope we see Bobby Miller starting.
Forrest Whitley hopefully returns from injury
Brad Johnson
12:10
I guess those weren't DEEP sleepers, huh. This is on my list to work up over the next week so ask me again next time!

Brad, 5x5 NL-only league, and I have 2 OF/Util spots to fill with these 5 choices: Tommy Pham, Ben Gamel, Lane Thomas, Lorenzo Cain, Brian Anderson.  I'm planning to run with Pham and Gamel.  Would you change that order?
Brad Johnson
12:12
I'd cut out Cain from that list. And I do like Pham the most. Any of the others are reasonable choices. I find myself ambivalent between Thomas, Anderson, and Gamel.
Merca-doh!

Oscar Mercado was a multi-category beast a few seasons ago, but he’s been useless since. Is his hot start legit, or are there better options likely to be available on the waiver wire?
Brad Johnson
12:13
I did a dive on him a couple days ago and came away discouraged.
All I'm seeing is some small sample HR which is always the most volatile portion of the standard batting line.
12:15
I don't see anything improved beyond a couple barreled baseballs. The EVs aren't even that good. 106 max EV. Discipline is still ok.

My team had a really rough week offensively. I picked up Tatis late in the draft. If I were to flip him to improve my offense, what would be the last you would accept for him? Or I am better just holding
Brad Johnson
12:16
I'd definitely field offers. If it's a H2H league, there's more incentive to hold him.
12:17
As for the last player I'd take... I suppose it depends on your specific needs. If you don't need to prioritize SBs, someone like Max Muncy might be a good target. Depressed draft cost and slow start.
12:18
Ketel Marte? I'm aiming pretty high unless you have an injury apocalypse crowding your IL.
Quarantino Martinez
12:18
Dylan Bundy for Cy Young AND mvp or just one of them?
Brad Johnson
12:18
Rolaids Acid Inducer
12:19
We were chatting about when to pull Bundy when he melted. I was typing "next baserunner" as he allowed the hit to Devers. They got away with it.
In any case, be... wary... of Bundy in fantasy.

Very deep formats only.

Brad, 5x5 NL-only league with weekly transactions.  At SS/MI, I drafted Dansby Swanson and Luis Urias.  Awful performance and injury have bit me.  I'm looking at Thairo Estrada and Kyle Farmer as replacements this week.  Seem reasonable until Swanson bounces back and Urias is healthy? My one other option is Jose Iglesias.  Thanks!
Brad Johnson
12:20
Iglesias has some games at Coors. I'd go with him for this week.

I overpayed for José Altuve and paid market price for Bo Bichette. At least Altuve is productive with his .156 average. Bichette is terrible. Will either hit their weight? Or is Altuve washed up and Bichette overhyped?
Brad Johnson
12:21
Altuve has a number of red flags in his profile which could presage the end anytime between now and several years down the line.
12:22
They've been worsening for years.
12:23
That said, I don't think there's anything sticky about his .190 BABIP or 27.8% K%. He'll regress to like .270/.340/.450.
12:24
Bichette might be in a bit of a funk, but I'm not concerned. His profile's actually pretty ugly, supported by his athleticism. I don't think he'll age well if he doesn't grow as a hitter.
We're talking at least 3-4 years from now, I can't help thinking dynastically.

12:24
I heard you threw my name out in last week's chat....I hope I made you proud.  Who should fantasy managers pursue this week??
Brad Johnson
12:25
Paul Blackburn has looked pretty sharp in a barely-fantasy-relevant kind of way. Similar to Fedde in that regard.
