It's a confusing situation. Personally, I don't like the expectation that players always go 100%. That's how you injure yourself. That said, O'Neill should have been running harder in that situation.
You know, it's all fine if Oli just sits him a day or two without public comment.

I'm not entirely sure he does help. I think he's going to be forced to the bullpen if nobody in the loop is screaming at him to develop a new fastball.
Like, I don't know what they're doing. They ruined Thompson with the same issue.

These days, it's not hard to design a new fastball to match a triple-plus curve like Liberatore's
doesn't even have to be the main heater, just needs to be there often enough to scare hitters with 2 strikes

Presently, you can almost treat Liberatore like a knuckleballer - see it high, let it fly.

Harder question.  Keeper league - Ohtani is one player, you can only play him as a hitter or a pitcher but not both at once.  Weekly line up.  Yordan for Ohtani - who says what to whom?

That's a fair trade imo, though I know many would prefer Ohtani.\
I think we're underrating the injury risk on Ohtani because he's managed to hold up lately

The ask on his body is enormous. The reason we don't have two-way players isn't because nobody is capable.
(though, probably nobody is capable of doing what Ohtani does)
